Ok, I've noticed that for a normal mugen, the speed goes to around 60fps as standard.
well, My Sis SeraphicWings showed me a stream of her mugen and well...Somehow she excelled her speed.
Her speed excelled beyond 60fps with more fluent animation. I think she did something to help speed up her mugen but what.
How can I get mugen beyond 60fps? Ive tried every possible combination I can think of in the cfg and I am stumped here. and the mugen speed in options dont help nothing because she kept hers at NORMAL speed.
I'm not Crazy...I'm just Mentally not-ill enough....

I doubt the engine was ever designed to render outside of the 60fps target. Adjusting GameSpeed in mugen.cfg seems to do nothing but adjust the speed in relation to that 60fps average, probably frame-skipping or holding frames to achieve the correct result.

Even if it were then we get into the issue of having a monitor that will actually display over 60hz (75hz if you're lucky) unless you specifically went out and bought a 120hz monitor to see a benefit in animation clarity.

I never saw a real difference considering this is how i always played but Rel is convinced that its faster then usual.

It took me a while to realize it after he mentioned it but...here it is.

The video really doesnt do it justice, even though recording doesn't drop me any frames it still seems faster in person.

But yea, here you go.

Yeah, apparently the stream shows more promise.
But this is what I wish to have for my mugen. any idea how to code this in?
I'm not Crazy...I'm just Mentally not-ill enough....

If anything, the game speed is speed up (which you can do in the options menu) which I use fast 1 and that video shows basically the exact same speed as what I see when I'm playing on mugen. I didn't even know things went past 60 fps...

Neither did I. Seraphic told me that even on that speed, her Mugen Gamespeed is on NORMAL. no Fast 1 or nothing!!

I NEVER put the games speed on anything BUT Normal.

EVER.

I find it pointless, defeats the purpose of playing the game the way it was meant to be played.

I have never touched it.

Well, open a match, and press ctrl+c and make the debug show, you should be able to see the FPS, you've probably just got a really good pc that can run mugen at it's potential. and if that's the case then Flowrellik, it's all on your computer that you aren't seeing it as smoothly.

I think its just my computer as u said. I recently did a massive driver update a few months ago, ever since then games have played much much better then before.

And thats about the time i got back into Mugen. So that could be it lawl.

OOOOH MY!!
OK, I did a test with Fast 1. Apparently its got an almost similar effect, and the speed ratio is around 65 fps, roughly the same speed if not slightly sped up.
Normal mode was at 60 fps. Same said for Seraphic.
My only guess is what Taybear said. Maybe Sis's PC is better to run Mugen at its full potential. Maybe I need a driver update idk.

I updated because OSM was regulating my driver to 3 - 4 years ago.

So i just found a workaround and deleted the OSM driver and installed a 2014 Driver.

Sped my games up 10 fold.

Again, its probably my computer.

Could be it. I know there's no code into making it run smoother, it's all up to your pc haha. A driver update could definitely help. Good luck with it though!

you can always speed up your mugen beyond 60fps using cheat engine with enable speedhack
