Mugen not responding on startup

Basically what it says.  I start mugen, the window comes up, but stays black.  After a few moments i get the (not responding) notice.

It worked fine yesterday then won't load this am.  I'm using mugen 1.0, windows 7 64 bit

Happens to me the first time I boot my mugen after turning on the PC. Just let it sit.
Once you boot once, it'll load fast. That is until you turn off the pc.

this is a commonly found problem on big or huge rosters 
mugen will take too long to load with alot of characters and stages.
so you all you have to do is wait for mugen to load
simple as that, right?

The possible solution to this is delete some characters, you didn't use anymore. Or, try running Mugen as an administrator.
I am not sure if this is the really solution but try it out.
