MUGEN speeds up during fights

When I'm fighting others in MUGEN, I tend to use a certain button combanation for most attacks. The attack I use the most on this specific char is down, back, then the heavy kick button. I press the heavy kick button twice for a chained attack. But for some reason, MUGEN speeds up, like after the announcer says Round 1 it says Fight too soon.

Now first, what is the point of speeding up MUGEN? It makes it too fast and annoying. So how do you slow it back to it's normal speed? Or even better, how do you disable this thing if it's possible?

Don't exactly know what it's originally for, but one can find his/her own reasons for using it. One of them would be that you'd want to test yourself and see if you can keep up with the speed of battle, which can be great for advanced practice.

Another reason would be that you'd like try to try something crazy-go-nuts, so you crank up the speed for sweet rushing madness, or slow it down and put the fights in bullet-time.

Try toggling the speed with Ctrl+S. Goes back and forth between slow and normal for me, but it might be worth a shot for you.


Actually, what character are you using? This issue might come from the way this move was made.

I was using this Amy Rose char:





I think it was either done by Cyanide, or someone edited a different version made by him.

Anyway, it has an attack where she leaps and kicks the opponent, but if you press the heavy kick button again, she'll go from leap-kicking to her fingers splayed out and fall clumsily.
