ugh... I would be able to read this but some of the characters are in simplified Chinese, I mostly know only Traditional.

What Basara said for the rough translation is mostly what it DOES say( for the characters I can read) but there are a few other things more to this paragraph.... Hold on while I look up the simplfied characters.
The only Mugen creator on this site without a "gay" purple name.  :-X

Little known FACT: If you use the equation, (z)velocity = (((x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2)^.5) / time and z = a small decimal number in mugen you can get something that follows something else. Useful for heat seeking missiles, black holes, magnet effects, a projectile aimed for an enemy's head... Seriously, try it! It's awesome!

This is indeed sad news, MUGENChina was one of my first MUGEN forums back in 2006.
Another great MUGEN community has fallen...

Well this sucks. I remember visiting MC a bunch of times for their KoF content. Looking forward, I sincerely hope Guild remains as strong as it has been lately for plenty of time to come. I understand things come and go for a multitude of reasons, but it would be a damned shame to see this place fade into obscurity. Mugen is just too damned fun and there are a lot of great people here. To play it safe, I'm gonna start collecting E-Mails!!

And this is pretty much the only site I visit outside of a handful of others. I'd say Guild takes up 90% of my net time!!

To translate Chinese to English it is best to summarize long paragraphs like this one instead of translating word from every word exactly. Chinese has hardly any sentence structure, if I were to do a very raw translation of this to english, all you would see are "random" words grouped together. Adding sentence structure to it changes things so I have to be careful with my translation. I recognize some of the simplified Chinese characters a little more now after looking some up, just wait a bit longer.

From what I know, China's language is ridiculously hard. The tone of your voice can completely change the meaning of a word and I'm pretty sure there's like 3-4 different tones. I can only imagine what their writing is like.

mandarin (official langage) has 4 tones and it's not that hard to learn in the end because there is no conjugation and simple grammar...(cantonese is one hell of a tough langage)...the reading/writing on the other hand is a bitch though because learning enough characters to be able to write/read is strictly memorial.
when i was learning it, we were told that we would potentially be able to talk/read/write properly after 2-3 months (which was true)...of course, living in China sure helped a lot for practicing purposes

sad news for mugen indeed regarding mugen china: always seemed to be that huge creatively active forum to me, never thought it would close

The Chinese writing is not as scary as people say it is. There is hardly any sentence structure or grammar, meaning what you write all together can be understood more easily, MUCH more easily. Hand writing the characters are not too bad either. First you learn "base" or easy to write characters and then you combine easy characters together to form one new character. This makes remembering them and writing them a hell of a lot easier. When you can do that you will be able to remember and write characters like this:

And BTW this character is not a joke, even though you will prabably laugh at it. It means a certain type of chinese noodles. And it's the best character EVAR.

If you look more into the character, the character is actually made up of smaller easy to write characters. Also for anyone learning chinese, no other chinese character is like this to this extreme, don't worry. :P

The only thing bad about Chinese is that you have to memorize around 3000-4000 characters AND character combinations. There is actually a grand total of around 40,000 chinese characters used in history but you don't need to know all of them and NO ONE does. Knowing all of them would be like knowing EVERY word in the english dictionary, which no one could ever do.

I'm specifically Chinese, and the Chinese Language revolve the same structure as English. SOV Style (Subject-Object-Verb). It also depends on which dialect you're talking about, but since it's just simplified Chinese then you don't really need to know the major differences of Dialect. Memorization is key for Chinese characters/words. They usually are formed through combination of symbols that represent a character. However, that topic is supposedly not about MugenChina.

MugenChina was one of the forums that I liked visiting. The visual style of the forums was nice and one of the best creators that I liked was there (BoomerHere who made the Ougon Musou Kyoku characters). I still ponder on what he is actually doing now... I really want to collaborate with him on such a project =l

Wow... this is really sad, fortunately I got all MvC2 system rips by Wuwo, and KOFZ was the best masterpieace I ever saw on mugen... but that hardly makes for a relief ;(

Maybe they will return... someday :(

that's not saying much

as true as that is people always talked about infantry as a "major" mugen site. When mffa was still going when infantry basically died before it actually closed. I realize my point was kind of bad but I feel we might be up there with some of the most active uh non foreign mugen sites around. Not as much as guild by any means but still up there.
