Which characters, or even stages, would you say are the most iconic in the community? Keep in mind, this doesn't mean "best".

Kung Fu Man (Obvious.)

Dragon Claw by Reu (Can't tell you how many times this character has been referenced. Evil Ryu and Ken have also taken a life of their own.)

Rare Akuma by POTS (Started out as a joke, then preceded to have way too many people take it seriously.)

Homer Simpson by Warner + Judgespear + Friends (Or Mugen: Youtube Edition)

What else do you think?

Let's not forget...

Holy Ken (Broken, but innovative)
God Ken (Balanced IMO)
Evil Dan (Ilcane87 mastered Reu's style perfectly)
Nega Joe/Ryo (Innovation)
MB-02 (OP, but a damn good creation)
Sevil Nahte (OP, but one the best characters to me)
Master Ryu (POTs made a classic character that's balanced with all the moves,,, KUDOS)
Ken (Jmorphman... is a GOD)

  • Take That. !
I vote for Rare geese
RALSH.
I think the only H-Character I ever got was that Black Raiya edit and she had a super that forced the foe to suck her cock while classical music played.

For better or worse, the collective of all early 2000s South American DBZ characters.  Most couldn't name a specific creator, but everyone remembers the characters themselves.

How about that Ronald McDonald character back in the day.

Quite a few people remember that character and remember the day it was released.

It was a fun time.

A lot of what I'm seeing listed makes this thread yet another "my favorite characters" list.

I'd say MUGEN's biggest icons are Kung Fu Man and Dragon Claw.

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

That's part of why I mentioned the EVE screenpack, actually. I don't care for it, but have seen it a lot.

The default winmugen screenpack is more iconic.

A true mugen icon would be a shitty youtube video from the mid-late 00's with poor framerate, eve lifebars, stage 0 and Homer vs Omega Tiger Woods. You know, the kind of shit that gets people into mugen.

Or "Everyone Hate [insert character here]" videos, because what got me into M.U.G.E.N was such a video where Kyubey was getting thrashed.
