My concern about game roms regarding Mugen creations

Hi, I was wondering since SNK or Capcom won't sue Mugen for using their content to make characters as long as no profit will be made: http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/capcom-and-snk-playmore-wont-sue-m-u-g-e-n-62291.0.html I was wondering what about those roms and emulators where Mugen creators would rips sprites, sounds and extracting datas from the game using Artmoney, does that consider issue for Mugen creator using roms and emulators to extract resources from their games?

you just indirectly answered your own question.

snk and cap won't sue for using their content, rom is made by capcom, snk,, use their content(sprites) for no profit

see what i'm getting at?

no, we are not allowed to use roms and emus to get the sprites, we are supossed to magically get them, though some of us are in good terms with snk and capcom staff and get the sprites directly from them.

does that also including purchasing the game from them too, like for example Playstation 2's King of Fighters 2002?

No, it's not an issue, because they aren't gonna chase after every guy who rips sprites from their games, it may not be legal but it's really not worth the trouble of hiring lawyers and hunting sprite rippers online.
