But I forget what you consider professional:
professional according to GBK: crayon drawings of MK characters

unprofessional according to GBK: experimental forum technology being created on the fly and tested out in a community of coders

Agreed. And repeatedly saying that the forum is a work in progress (like nobody fucking knows that) is obnoxious after the first 5 times.


The Online Today list is not toggle-able; its just a one way street now. You guys are probably still adjusting it, though, since it's recent.

I always thought some highlighting would be cool for the different sections. The Titles of each section could highlight blue on a mouseover event; child boards too.

Clicking on the groups at the bottom of the online list takes me to blank pages.

The Fighting Game section is at the bottom of the Art and Entertainment section. Wasn't that one placed at the top or second from top place?

Oh, one more thing. The quotes in my previous post have the time displayed as 24 hour, not AM/PM, even though I specified AM/PM format in my profile. But if you hover over the text and see the exact date and time, it will display it in AM/PM format.

At first I thought it was a party hat for the p, but if you look at Rajaa's signature, you'll see it's an arrow.

The "Preview topic" text should probably have an image instead of simple text ala the "New" button, and preferably available without hovering over the thread title.

when you post an image it is automatically resized therefore, when you put the cursor above an image, you suddenly see "click on image to resize" or something like that.

That message STAYS on the freaking image after appearing and just fucks up the image.
Once you have put your mouse cursor on the image it's over, you can't see it clearly anymore without having to click on it.

It would be cool if the message could either appear OUTSIDE the image OR disappear after 2 or 3 seconds.

if you move the recent posts to the bottom of the page, there is enough space for this.


Normal users have their name displayed on grey, it makes them hard to read, change that to black when you can.

actually i think all names in threads should be one color like it used to be. those purples are harder to read considering the low contrast and thin font

taking the numbers from the old site:

I made two examples, for the post tops i used the colours that used to be in the gradient ( imo a repeat of that gradient would look best)
#738599 that is the darkest color in that gradient
#A7B9CD is the lightest

Once the post tops are changed, the font should be changed to something bold and white.

the posts themselves I used the colour #E7EAEF, both for the posts and the avatar background.

Also, christ this font on the reply mode is pretty bad, the one on the forum itself needs a bit of adjusting, try :  font: 78%/130% "Verdana","Arial","Helvetica",sans-serif;
Change the colours as soon as you can, as it is, while not as bad as it was this morning its still like staring at a lightbulb.


Also we dont really need a new logo, cant we just expand the top of the site?



edit: I just noticed the first bug i submitted still happens. Front page ( and any other page) should have a set width, you do not want the pages to change width as the window is decreased, it makes the whole forum unreadable whenever the page is not occupying the whole screen. Width should never be dynamic , at least not past a certain point, this is basic readibility issue >:C

Second one looks good. That, combined with a better, non-serif font for post text, alternating colors for posts, and something to make the usernames more distinctive (perhaps a bolded font, using one single color [old forum used hex code C36002]) would I think fix all the aesthetic issues.

there are probably more aesthetic issues but getting the font and excess white changed would at least improve readability which is the main issue right now

you should not assume that your page is only being read at fullscreen.





Names could probably pass down into the box underneath, above the avatar, as they are they are too inline with the thread title and it makes the posts look top heavy.

Edit: hum, whenever i click a pic, it shows me all the pics posted by me on that thread, and I can move in between... however it never shows me the pics without the zooming thing at the corner, even when zoomed in.

Huh, I just noticed, the little buttons with users' various IM addresses are gone. So are the websites. And the only thing left is... Jabber?

Can we at least - woah, font while doing post has changed, still courier though, get rid of this serif shit plz - change the saturation a bit?

There is no appreciable deliniation between 2 posts, between quotes or even between things within the forum. Everything is pale and washed out. Signatures help in this regard, but we need to be able to see things...

This is like a character palette where all it is is drab greys and greens. Bit more strong colours, neutral tones still, but STRONG neutral tones. This washed out stuff just makes things impossible. I want BLACK text in a post.
