Another filtering, this one pretty much removed all detail, and I think parts near his belt are now disappearing for frames at a time

I can't make these characters look like the SFHD characters because they look like cartoon animations. As far as the detail loss. I am no artist for drawing sprites. The only thing I can do is enhance what I all ready have. If I redraw it it will look to animated to me. I mean don't get me wrong I like the SFHD characters but thats not really what I had in mind.

like i previously said you can't expect him to redraw these because they're not really sprites

the legs really need work however and shouldn't be that hard to fix manually

Also the sprites have a bit of aliasing ;D it's better to apply teh scalex tool ;D

You need to improve the details, but I can see that this method really works for a better skin texture.
And as Nio said: You need to work on the edges.

Reptile doesn't really look like he has any eyes.

What?
Mortal Kombat sprites are digitalized.
Which means they record video of the actors doing attacks, and they downsize it.

And the animations are very jerky compared to other games.

Anyone who downloads my stuff can edit them them any way they want to. Like I said before I am no graphic artist. But it is a good start for someone who wants to edit anything on it.

reptile doesn't look that bad in that shot! shao khan however, has no thighs, and the forward legs looks as if he has a prosthetic and didn't put it on right. :gonk: if you can try and work on it, it'd make them look better, I do understand you can't really work on it since "you're not a graphic artist", but practicing will make you better!

(one thing for the leg, just lasso it, and try shifting it closer to the rest of his leg, dunno might make it look better)

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

baraka, jhonny cage and lui kang are nice, the rest need work.

BigJohn, I like what you have done. I think you're on the right track.

Shao Kaan and Lou Kang look good, bordering on really good.

The rest look bad though but I understand that a lot of these automatic tools work better for some images than others.

Liukang and MK 2 ninjas looks ok honestly.
shaokahns mucsles got bulky :( and his chest piece+neck seems weird.
raiden seems ok but he needs rebalanceing blacks through replace color and color balance at PS.

about that blaze..its the funniest.i can still see the part of 2nd goro arm which appears like rubbing his own ass xD

Well to tell you the truth most of this stuff did come off of your game. The authors names I got off of the .def files. If your name wasn't on the def file when I looked at it all it said was author "Mod.Aice_Man" in the def. So if it is yours then tell me how it is yours and I will make the correction for you. As I see it the character did have a authors name on it but it wasn't your name on the character. If you edited the character than you should of put that on the .def file. It doesn't mean your the author.


I'm not tring to be rude about it. It is a good collection of characters from a variety of different authors, But if your name wasn't on the character then I didn't post it.

Do they work in Winmugen, and do they work well with non MK characters?

From what I know, some MK characters have a tendency to put non MK chars in some form of invincibility state or another... stuff like that. :S

But I really like the progress. :D

EDIT:

Come to think of it, I had an idea on how to do a balanced Shang Tsung modelled after MK1!
Well, MK1 Shang Tsung is famous for having the coolest design (in my opinion) but suffers from having the fewest sprites.

Why not do like the cartoony Shang Tsung and have him form shift while doing some attacks and revert back to normal form afterwards?
That way, he would sorta be like a boss type character, using many abilities from other characters, while at the same time avoid being to unbalanced or complicated to control (like having to shape shift all the time with many complicated transformation controls)...

this one is perfect
Meh...its the one that stands out the most, but it still has little pieces of pixelated shit all over the SFF...just look under his chin and in his stomach area in that same gif. He has a flashing zit in his stomach! o_O

You fix the small carp here and there and at least this Liu Kang can be salvaged.

The others just look like Gausian Blur Vomit.
