Actually it was $35 million. And considering that News Corp (FOX) Paid $580 Million a few years ago its a bargain.

Version 3.0 coming... Um...  When I get to it.

Bargain or not, buying something that lost over 90% of its value in a few years is not a future indicator of success. The only thing worse than buying myspace might be friendster.

I think I still have a myspace account but the only people that use it are bands and stuff. Most people have moved on.

Wasnt facebook going to be partially bought by Goldman at some point? So maybe someone will buy twitter or something later too. More ads!

last time i checked, myspace was still full of profiles of bands

a quite good viderogamemusic cover band named the plasmas has their site there still

they made one quite good free album with covers of fighting games from the 16bit age

Maybe justin has some good ideas to change myspace to something better

i myself still wont use any of these social network crapsites :) forums like this one are the exception and i am on less than a handful

my original theory with this being justin fucking timberlake and all is that he may turn it into a networking type site specifically for budding musicians/actors/producers/writers/et al which would make sense since as mentioned there are more musicians and whatnot on the site than anything
i cant count the reasons i should stay

one by one they all just fade away...

this is what I think too. They need a total revamp.

I will say this myspace's problem was the fucked up HTML behind their webpages. without proper coding a site will become bogged down and unusable. Facebooks HTML looked better but with all their new features they are starting to get cluttered.
Good coding is behind a good website.

^^ thats why cms based sites are getting more and more popular

i started with own coded sites 2years ago.. today i use drupal and wordpress to build up sites, they have a very clean code are easy to handle for non experienced people and there is always support trough the strong communities behind these softwares.

myspace fucked up indeed around 1-2 years ago when they changed their code multiple times and made it hard for users to have their profiles looking as before

I browse in MySpace quite often, but only to listen to various indie bands. I always thought MySpace was mostly, if not only, for music bands... Whatever...
