New Console Announced by Google and Asus: Google Nexus Player

In a slew of information and announcements about Google products today, one of the most interesting of them was the announcement of the Nexus Player, a new streaming device and game console built as a collaboration between Google and Asus. The console boasts a cheap price, "stunning 3D graphics," and a pretty neat looking controller.



Naturally running on Android, the console will feature third party controller support (meaning that your Wii U Pro Controller or DualShock 4 have yet another use!), free online multiplayer, and synced achievements between all of your Android devices.

Launching with a price of $99.99, and $39.99 for the controller, it's going to make good competition with the prices of other microconsoles such as the Ouya, Amazon's Fire TV, and Sony's recently released PlayStation TV. While the device doesn't launch until November 3rd, you can begin preordering the device on October 17th. Below you can find some pictures showcasing the console, the controllers, and the interface.
