When I suggested local mods I meant for areas that needed stickies updated frequently and only that purpose anyway. We're Mugen Guild. We're good with this stuff!

Just to name 1 of several. That would be the only purpose of having a local mod. Not for actual moderation. But just to give them a project to help maintain.

It's not my fault I'm the only active mod there! I still think dealing with wanton bumps and such is more important than that thread since the bumps mess with the flow of the section and push more recent requests back.

I remember a time when that subforum have like 5-6 local mods that attends the whole subforum, but they not exist anymore. Too bad you're the only one who takes care of that subforum, even global mods and admins got abandoned, too sad :-\

I was just wondering if you might be interested in taking over that thread and maintaining it, because we're already pretty busy. Of course I'm interested, JM. I would ask to you and admins about it, but since all of you said "if you ask for it, then you'll never get it" I preferred not to say it. But yes, I would update that thread as well adding some other creators websites I know that aren't there. It would be a honor for me to help with that section in general too, especially with the lack of mods there (except CAN, the only active mod I saw there actually)

Okay, finally off work.  Graphicus, I asked for you to have mod powers in Sprite Projects in case you need it for the stickies there. You also have it for the Dev Resources board so you can update the Color Separation Sticky if you happen to see projects from the Sprite board finished.

Both you and MaxBeta can add to the stickies in Dev Resources. Primarily the Color Separation thread and the sprite rips and sound rips stickies. Basically when ever you get bored please add to those stickies to help them be more current. Since local moderation doesn't give you a lot of options you don't have to worry about modding too much. Keep in mind in Dev resources people can bump old threads. I really need to add that to a sticky.

Since you cannot actually solve reports and if you choose to solve one in your boards I'd just report the post before you solve it saying "SOLVED" or something and maybe tell what actions you took. Then a GM can hit solve on the thread on their next pass through.

The primary reason I thought of you guys to be local mods is because both of you are very helpful and I since you already contribute in these areas a lot I figured you guys might as well have the ability to help keep the boards up to date even better.

Always feel free to PM or ask publicly if any of you have any questions. And thanks for all the hard work you guys do to make the forum grow!

Most of the stuff there is people asking for help and not...uhh...Discussing methods of implementing features into mugen creations.

actually, i was asking myself what is the difference between "Mugen Development" & "Mugen Development Help" right now...
the descriptions are...meh:

-"Discuss methods of implementing features in M.U.G.E.N creations. Not to be mistaken with the Help forums.", which is fine
-"For problems with creating content for M.U.G.E.N."

problem is that looking into both sections back & forth, i see the same type of threads, being mainly a mix of straight up coding issues & mugen configuration issues (which btw should be cleaned up/moved to the proper section also -_-): maybe merging the Development / Development Help, unless it was set up like this for a particular reason?

IINM the Development section was kind of a theory discussion, the things Mugen can do if you push its limits, rather than help for a specific implementation. Like a stage of discussion before figuring out something worth putting in tips & tricks & tutorial sections. Like, for example, trying to figure out how new systems like super armor (back when it was new I mean) or a numerical damage counter could be done.
I haven't visited it in a very long time, though (same with the dev help), so it's possible that there isn't enough specific material for it now. Discussing new ideas would probably fit better in Mugen Discussion I suppose.

... Actually, a quick look at the first page of the topics in Dev do seem to be theoretical enough on brand new systems, so I'm not sure there's really anything wrong there. There's this topic about "what to check for fluidity, hitboxes on short limbed characters" for a random example, that's theoretical discussion right here for a concept of general use in Mugen dev. It's like this recurring question, should hurtboxes cover hitboxes, that's a far-reaching question on how to develop for Mugen in general.

what byakko said, development discussion does not imply that you are having problems in how to code stuff, while the help sectino implies that; while they are kinda similar it was also decided back then that it was better to left the topics in whichever forum they were posted first instead of moving them, because most of the time it is help posts being  posted in theory discussion and helping people is prioritized.

you cant have none of that. you are prone to delete your posts which makes you unlikely to trust with anything mod related.
we are not comfortable having a mod that deletes their own posts having access to tools for deletion of complete parts of a sub forum. Im sorry, it just makes you hard to trust.

Ahh ok is understandable.

I just wanted to edit few threads since these are in the encyclopedia's credits:

Such as D4RK_R4V3N for example, it has the images down.

And I have seen users that did/do several threads being they can have all in one.

Even that I can help people without having to be a mod, I wanted to be one to merge old threads and update them if possible (I think I saved old sprites from here).


But you could stick the CvSvC encyclopedia at least?

In all seriousness, asking is how I got the job that many years ago.

It's customary to have somebody who's into spriting and usually active as the Graphic Arts board, like, right know Balthazar or Diepod could be nominated.

Welcome Oxe/Lith/Keith to the Global Mod team.
Lith has helped a ton for months as a mod for awards. He took advantage of the ability to edit news. And volunteered for request mod. With him aiding in so many things it seemed pertinent to just go ahead and make him a GMod so he could have way too many responsibilities!
