Not repeating myself.
do not worry, according to walt you are inferior to him, since you are an american and thus come from a place with weak religious moral fiber. You are hardly accountable due to that.

been attacked for simply having beliefs in a higher being, and mocked by insensitive disrespectful people, and they never even bothered to apologize
yes walt, you were attacked, poor you, you had people arguing about your religion and making jokes about the religion you practice, that constitutes harm to your person. You should contact someone and tell them about it.Meanwhile Stop trying to derail a thread.

Those pieces of toast are regarded as a sign for the people who had that revelation.
However, the fact that you don't see that revelation IN ABSOLUTE TERMS gives you the right to mock them :beam:

If you choose not to mock them though, sadly you'd be forfeiting your right to freedom of speech :O
You let them have a piece of their mind Shammy ;D

No offense to anybody but can we please close this thread since all there is now is a bunch of personal insults to each other and no real compromise.....I'm all for debating but this is not the place and this is not the way it should be handled IMO.....Iced has given the decision so can we please just get passed this thread like civil people????

You mean I say, "Wow that is rather crazy." People praying for forgiveness from toast.

Or I can't make a thread going. Check out this funny shit?

If that is mocking then yeah I think i can say those things.

Or for that matter I think I can make an observation about a character in the bible, such as the god of the old testament. Or the way i feel about him as a bully Or respond to people that say, how can you have morals without the bible, I think I am able to point out that I don't find that the god in the bible is not a very moral guy or as I finished that statement, the whole statement, the terrorist in the sky.

I still don't find it moral that people don't do wrong because of fear of burning in hell. That is terrorism. I find that being moral because you think it is the right thing to do more moral. Which was the point of my terrorist comment.

Terrorism is an act.

Let me ask you walt. if I don't think Jesus is the son of god or my savior. What happens to me when I die?

You would tell me that I will burn forever or something similar. You have just terrorized me by doing that.  If saying that is mocking then fine. Yeah i can do it.

no real compromise
What compromise can the offended reach?
Put up with the offender's crap?

Indeed. Thread locked.

Or not, since you know, Iced or Shamrock can unlock it later if they see that the consequences of this thread extend to other boards.

How is discussing threads (even some that an administrator himself posted) in the spirit of "yeah, we can discussed religion in a civil manner" spamming?

You say it's ok, so we can do it. I never said anything about spamming. I want to share and discuss my beliefs with others, engaging in a discussion!

What I'am confused is why everybody is calling Jesus the son of God when we too are children of God?

But go on...

Ok my terrorist quote is in a topic asking for opinions about religions.
Fair enough, but the position of 'the thread asked my opinion, so its okay to step on toes' isn't going to fair well. You stepped on those toes, you knew you were and are placed in this position where you cant dance.

We'll they had toes to step on (because they believed in a higher power) should not be an excuse towards the end of saying what you want. I doubt you'd make the argument, but nobody else reading the thread should either, just to make that clear.

Well there ya go. It is a common one actually. here. From a book I consider holy.

This makes sense, and the quote provides sufficient reason for the age old concept of 'God is evil'. The argument has been made in the past, but in better taste.

Also don't eat toast because it is holy.

I'd eat it because it was holy, it would be like communion.  ;D
I'd like to think that you support the people's right to eat toast with Christ's image on it (as communion) or to frame it in an airtight frame as a miracle, whether you believe it as such or not.
i think we should call it an "engine" so we don't look like total idiots because otherwise we'd be arguing about a "game" and that would be somehow "dumber" than arguing about an "engine" on the "internet" for countless hours

This thread has gone in a complete opposite direction of the intention, even though I don't agree with stopping religious conversation do to everybody being old enough to either not debate or ignore the comments of others that are not trying to limit their freedom of religion or thought, I think that this has gone too far......Shamrock though your point is valid and should be expressed like anybody else's maybe it's not the right time to continue this debate here when people are obviously not happy at the moment....I know these things are debatable but you see that these people don't want to debate it and they'd rather get rid of it, so debating them is doing nothing but making them angrier and do we really want that??? NO.....we've got to come together as a community...forget about each others' personal beliefs and realize that this arguing is foolish...we all know we can't convert each other to anything so let's just agree to not agree and move on...if someone wishes to debate fine, but they should do it in the way that is expressive and opinionated and not condescending  to others...Shamrock though I agree that people, such as Walt, should not be as hurt on the subject since IMO it's not that serious because if you have faith why does it matter what anybody else think, I also think that your comments are just escalating the matter....I'm not a mod but I think that we should either do his civilized or not do it at all...I don't think that religion should be removed because I believe that we CAN talk about it if we just tried to drop our personal frustrations and really laid out points in a calm manner....everybody is too worked up at the moment to discuss anything...I'm no better, but I ready to start over....who's with me????

This thread ends with the compromise of EMPATHY.

When the staff accepts that they have acted wrong about the points mentioned, and commit to be more tactful and moderate about future incursions on the matter (I.E. not being jerks) then we can move forward.

It's hard for them to really do so when you're doing what you say they're doing.

I'm being a jerk because I stand by my point repeating it over and over, because I have yet to see any remorse about being dicks? At least I'm not offending anyone directly, unapologetically being a dick.

And even if I was, if Shamrock can, I guess I can follow his example since he's a moderator, so I expect nothing short of the treatment he's getting, which is a free pass to be a dick (I did say 'IF I was' )

But think rationally for a second(no offense intended)....if they haven't done it by now...what's gonna change their minds in the next 15 pages.....IMO??...nothing....not until everyone agrees to discuss the matter civilly without bringing in insults or religious debates.....why can't we just try to start over one last time???

It's hard for them to really do so when you're doing what you say they're doing.

we are all at fault of similar offenses even the mods and we should not point out anybosy else's flaws until we have apologized for all of ours.....
