It's official, my newest project is Needles Kane, aka Sweet Tooth, of Twisted Metal fame! ;D
I intend to make him a bit cheap, but not in the sense that he's unbeatable, just him being really powerful. He'll have lots of tools at his disposal (like landmines, machetes, and shotguns), making him a real chore to contend with. As a first look, here is his Character Select Portrait and video preview!

4) If you post a project that lacks substance, you are unlikely to get much feedback.  It is generally a good idea to show something tangible of your work, ideally a screenshot or two.
Have anything else to show us on this? Will it be the actual ice cream truck or the man himself?

The man himself, Needles Kane. Don't worry, I'll post some screenshots soon. I need to finish a few other animations before I do. He's still in need of the rest of his basic movements.

Oh man this is a good news! I was hoping for Sweeth Tooth as a guest character in MKX, but now I can try him in mugen first!

I killed Calypso like I did any other man... you have to have your priorities....

I think it would be awesome to somehow code a power increase that affects the flame above his head with each successful strike, much like how murdering people keeps the flame going.

You have a lot of creative content to work with. Best wishes on a promising character. :2thumbsup:

Sadly no flame on his head, but he should hopefully have it to perform a few moves, and maybe a victory stance or two. He just doesn't have the flame on the model. I made the flame on his CSP myself.

Okay! Here are some animations.


Here is Sweet Tooth's idle stance. I plan to make him do some extra actions if you leave him standing long enough.


Here is Sweet Tooth's taunt. He has three phrases: "Messin' with the wrong clown!", "Shut up and BLEED!", and "Shut up and lay down!" The taunt is also a low damage attack for a single frame, and it knocks the enemy down. It's like that to add some more humor to the character.


Could Needles realistically run like this? Probably not. But, again, I'm trying to make this character as crazy as I possibly can. He's really fast at running, too! Maybe it's just happening for me, but the animation is actually much slower on this GIF than it should be.


Again with the over-the-top movements. His "walk backwards" is actually more of an evasive move, because it actually goes about as fast as his run. It's actually pretty funny to see in game, because he has average walking speed, but runs and run backwards crazy fast! And again, this GIF seems to be much slower than the animation actually is.

the flame could be an explod bound to his head and change based on his motion movements it would work.
You'll fix chuchoryu ? Sounds like a plan. How about you code him from scratch instead ?

To be a big fat man his running velocity is so high :P I think you should slow him.

My goal is to make him really crazy and over-the-top...

lol I'll consider it, but I like my run animation the way it is. It "fitting in" wasn't necessarily the point. Sweet Tooth would move more like a normal man realistically, but I'm going for making him as insane as possible, y'know?

Okay, bit of an update. Needles now has all the required sprites (something I forgot to do with Samus originally lol), and his hurt/fall animations are done. I tweaked the run backward speed to be a tad slower, and made the forward run a bit faster, plus added a sound effect of him chuckling when he starts running.

Now I need to finish with some extra recovery frames, and wrap up all basic movement, and I'll be able to start on attacks!

Also, I'm not certain I'll be able to pull off a constant head-flame after all. Like I said, though, I WILL implement it for certain attacks and win poses.

Lastly, I attempted giving him an alternate palette, and it works fine unless he gets hit, or attacks, in which case it reverts to the default palette for that frame/those frames. I use FF3, so... I don't suppose there's any way around this, is there?
