So, I've been considering putting together a NGPC Chonrei based on a few RB2 endings:

I figure it's simpler in NGPC, since less trouble than removing the nunchucks from every Hon-Fu frame + headswapping =P

Anyway, while changing NGPC Kim sprites, I figured I'd give it a extra tweak and try to allow the sprite to look barechested by palette trickery, so the base turned out like this:

I'm still not too sure about the belt thickness and its shading, since I worked from Kim's completely black belt and want to allow it to be white like in the endings. Not sure if the hair needs work either.

Anyway, the default look is supposed to be this one:

And by changing the palette to make him barechested, it ends up like this:

I'm not sure if the shading converts well from cloth to skin...

Any comments or suggestions to improve?...

does it make that much of a difference if it's applied equally on cloth or skin?
actually yes because they're 2 different shapes. you can give his torso a different shading or give the sprite 'flat colors'. there's also something not convincing in his right hand.

also no neo geo pocket version?

The hand's exactly the same in the Kim sprite I used as a base...

Hmm, then again, Kim does wear gloves, I kinda forgot while making that edit... perhaps keeping that hand in a single color will fix it.

Perhpas I'd better try to make sure I can adapt the whole sprite sheet first with the shirt on, and try barechested version through palette trickery later, or for now I'll waste too much time worrying about the difference a pixel or two make - I can move on to that after I get a move basic adaptation done with...
