I originally had regular Winmugen, and any ogg worked fine. Then I decided to switch Winmugen Plus and copied it to the same folder, now it tells me this everytime something is supposed to play an ogg file: "This application has failed to start because NSCRT.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I tried using that dll, but nothing worked. Could it have something to do with my plugins?

  • Somebody PM when Caddie is no longer a mod.
Yes. You need the ogg plug-ins. I think the ones from scruffy dragon's site have them.

Thanks, I'll try those out, and if I have a problem, I'll post it up.

Fixed.

Go ahead and run mugen with the "-configplugins" option and fiddle around with the in_vorbis settings if it still gives you problems.

Edit: When you got NSCRT.dll, where did you put it?  When a program complains about missing DLL files you need to put them in the main folder or in c:/windows/system32

"-configplugins"? How do I mess with in_vorbis settings? Sorry for the noob questions. I put NSCRT.dll in the main folder, I didn't get the error, but ogg didn't play and when I press esc, it freezes.

In the folder, right-click and select New->Text Document
Edit it and write
winmugen winmugenplus -configplugins

Then save it and rename it to .bat instead of .txt

Thats excellent advice Insanius, you have too many plugins turned on they are overprioritzing one another
thats also a good way to make a quick mugendebug.bat

additionally check my answer to this topic it works alot of music problems out no hassle
