P.o.t.S.' WIP (old, Nakoruru + Geese) (Read 76633 times)

For shin gouki, would you be adding his capcom fighting jam's intro where he does his misogi without the horse stance and later in his fighting pose, I guess if you played capcom fighting jam, you might know what I am talking about  :P

In that case, you (PotS) should try checking out Goukis ending in CFJ and try to make a replica of that finishing move he performs to the meteor, if its possible that is. I mean, I cant even make it out what hes doing O.o

Dan needs a Lvl3 move in which he whips out his dead dad and shoots a laser beam.  (this does exist in gem fighter [but not as a lvl 3 super])
Yeah, that crossed my mind at one point, but I ended up not adding his father.

That intro's silly. In fact it's so silly that I had the same idea as them for Pocket Shin Gouki. :sugoi:

lol that reminds me of a page in his old wip thread full of people's comments trying to figure out what he does in that ending. He already has enough moves anyway.

I can't understand, Pots are your chars already updated or are you preparing the updates that you will upload later...? On your site the chars are still earlier versions but from what I read here people are already playing with updated versions of your chars...some of them at least  o_O

Do you mean eliminating randomness from Original Combos, or from their AI altogether?

In case of the latter:
I actually like the randomness in their AIs; makes them far less predictable, and in watch mode, more entertaining to watch.  Unless when you say "remove randomness", you mean that they have the same "mindset" in battles that your Shin Gouki does (unpredictable, and capitalizes on every opportunity that he gets).  Then I'm all for it. :2thumbsup:

In case of the former:

Since I'm here:

Vega's Psycho Field is night useless against a serious opponent.  It's slow, and dissipates the moment he's hit? I think it should either be sped up a bit, or remain even when he's hit... and considering the potential amount of "wtf WRONG" that there could be in doing the latter, I'd recommend the former.

Dan's Self-Styled Beast Roll is apparently capable of infiniting on wider opponents.  (I say "apparently" because I haven't bothered to test this myself, but I have seen it happen more than once against multiple opponents in watch mode, so I figured that it's at least worth a mention.)  Most characters are fine, but with larger opponents, he can bounce back and forth on their shoulders like a ball.

And yes, Ryu does need a new AI.  All versions.  I know Sakura is a prodigy and all, but her shoe shouldn't go that far up her sensei's kaboose...

Second. Only comments there were about actually playing with the new versions were about Ryu, you can find a patch for him some posts back.

That's what makes it remotely fair IMO, being able to cancel it by hitting Vega, and it's like that in the original. The move's already powerful enough even with that limitation anyway, being slow is actually an advantage because that way you can combo anything from it (Psycho Field + Psycho Crusher = Level 1 Super, in terms of damage).

IIRC its triggers should make that impossible, they prevent the hits from coming out after the third. Not that it matters though, current version only hits once but is faster.

PotS, I wanted to ask you a question about your AI Activation edit of Winane's.

For some reason, I've noticed that there are many time where your AI either doesn't activate throughout entire matches, or else starts, then deactivates, then restarts, then deactivates, then restarts @_@ (Default AI charge, Your AI fight, Default AI charge, Your AI fight, etc.)

For Elix, on the other, as he's said but I haven't tested, his works fine each and every time, activating almost instantly.

I was wondering if you were going to talk to him about that or maybe tweak your method a bit.

That is my favorite char in all of Mugen we're talking about and everyone deserves a chance to see her in action.
I modeled a lot after her (like a few parts of teh Hinata Patch). Please don't let me loose her :bigcry:

Well I haven't. :S
The start/deactivate/reactivate should even be pretty much impossible given the code, it either turns on or off, but never both (unless you raped it :P).

That's exactly what I thought.
I know that sometimes the AI just doesn't activate at all, but here's some more stuff about the on/off occurrances.
I haven't touched that activation and there is no 100% way for me to be sure that the on/off roundabout was happening, but I sent you a PM with some examples of what I was talking about.

More than likely, I'll be corrected though  :S . I still have the belief that what I thought I was seeing shouldn't have been possible.

The dates on your character page suggests that new patches are available for Guy, Morrigan, and Vega. Truth? *downloads anyways*

Progressing very slowly. Sadly I lost interest in Nakoruru over the vacations (like with Vega before her), because I barely touched Mugen during that time... Still she's had all the CvS2 stuff for ages now, all I need to do is add some "new" stuff but I dunno when that'll happen. Already thinking about the next char. >_>

Does anyone make use of my chars' small jumps?
It's something I'll most likely remove in my next Capcom char, so I'm considering to just go ahead and remove them from the older ones as well.

Oh and more fixes, I'll try to update stuff this weekend.

Oh noes! Don't remove the small jump! The velocities on your aireal moves such as Ryu's make quick attacks that can lead to combos. Characters like Dan, yeah it's used less, but IMHO it's needed.

I understand how you feel. I was supposed to be releasing a character as well, but Mugen can lose interest at times. Anyways, looking forward to seeing your next project. Hope it's something unexpected and creative.  ;D

Hm, dunno, it also has its downsides, like getting in the way when you want to do a normal jump and quickly cancel it to a special, and making the jump startup anim longer...
It's something that I found nice when I first made Ryu and implemented it, but that I don't use nowadays. *shrugs*

Also, have you remembered to fix up the AI activation code for all of your older characters?
(Too lazy at the moment to check whether you'd already done so, sorry.)
Still quite busy.

(Yes, I intend to deal with that stuff eventually, but kinda can't just yet, sorry. :/ )
