So, I've been using AnimGet to obtain screenshots of characters in order to rip them from Big Bang Beat Revolve as I can't do it with Artmoney (I managed to get X and Y values but that's as far as I could get) and it's a PC game, so no emulator. My main question here has to do with transparent effects like some of the ones created when a certain attack is used. Is it possible to take an image with the effect (P1 attacks with a Lightning Bolt that is usually transparent.) and an exact image but without the effect (P1 is idle.) and separate the background from the transparent effect with a program?

Hello.

Look for a very simple program called Microsoft Photo Editor.

It has a transparency wand tool that is very effective and you can use to point to whatever color you'd like in the image to be transparent and presto...it does exactly that for you.

You can keep on choosing colors as it doesn't limit you to just one transparent color.

Before and After in mere seconds.

Of course once you are done setting the transparent colors with MSPE just save the image as PNG of GIF and open it with Photoshop so you can index the transparency color as 1 color and not many...if that's what you mean to do.

Hope this helps.

It does indeed, thanks a lot! Still learning and it helps tremendously and I don't have to use multiple pictures. Found out I can take those two exacts in Photoshop and use "Difference" in blending options, but yours is much easier. Only problem now is my palettes won't work right. The color I use as a back ground appears in the middle instead of the beginning of the palette like it should for Fighter Factory.

There's another program called Infranview that I use A LOT when I usually run into that problem.

You can put that color on any palette grid slot you'd like, save that palette, re-open the image and import your new customized grid into it.

Ah, thanks again. I got so use to finding out all these things with Photoshop looking for a "do all" sort of program if possible.

I totally understand because I've been in the same spot.

PS is a great program and I use it ALL the time but it does have its learning curve...most stuff you are forced to learn by experience or videos when there are many other smaller applications that do a lot of things quicker and through an easier to deal with user interface.

I'm glad I could help out.  8)

I hate to bother you again, but is there a substitute for MSPE for those transparent effects. Windows 7 doesn't have it and attempting to install it ends in lots of errors.
