For me, Smash Bros is like the Marvel cartoons you watched in the 90s. They had tanks and guns, but the only thing they shot were lasers.

Your having your hopes too high if you think they were going to include Snake shooting people with pistols and machine guns while trying to appeal to a younger audience.

Snake is not simple
Comparing to all the stuff he had in MGS, he is, I know it would of been impossible to include everything but they COULD of had a better selection, Only thing I liked about him was his Overpowered forward smash and his B + UP move.

I had really high hopes for Snake back when SSBB was still in the making, I like how Snake turned out I just hoped for better.

This is what I hope for a planned special moveset for Kratos if they go for similar gameplay like Smash Brothers

Special + Natural = Apollo's Bow (Being similar to Link's arrows)
Special + Forward = Hermes Dash (Dashing towards them, making them trip over like in MK9)
Special + Down = Head of Helios (Quick stun?)
Special + Up = Icarus's Wings (Something Similar to Kid Icarus in SSBB? few flaps + flight like Meta Knight/Charizard and Kid Icarus maybe)

I mean thats what I hope, Smash attacks would involve a lot of his chain blades, I just hope Sony does it right.
If I can't be the best, I sure as hell can be the worst.

Besides, Snake wouldn't have been nearly as fun in Brawl if he brought his more realistic weapons with him.  It was all about blowing shit up and tactically using his mines.

Snake in SSBB was pretty well done, I don't really know what you expected out of him, his moves were well picked to be part of a family friendly game.

But they were unappealing. Seriously, it was all about explosives for him, which is a disappointment, and really didn't fit the character. No silenced pistol? No knife attacks? Yeah, really disappointing.

But Snake DOES use explosives in the Metal Gear series.  Using generic guns and knives would have made Snake extremely boring and mundane, he wouldn't have fit into the over the topness of Smash Bros at all.

yeah i don't think a shitload of guns would've made him more interesting than he is

You took those words right out of my mouth Nanashi, that's one of the reasons why I didn't like Snake that much, because it kinda kills off the "Sneaky" side of him, just makes him more like a Bomberman instead of a Spy type character from all the explosives he uses, but of course he did use a fair few explosives in the MGS titles so I guess thats not as bad.

I mean he's got the crawl and his melee attacks from MGS (Except jumping attacks) that's the only Spy part of Snake we had, also not to mention all three of his taunts were him hiding under a box, could of been more creative over that part.
If I can't be the best, I sure as hell can be the worst.

It's not like Snake isn't trained to actually fight or anything, he can do more than just sneak around yo.  You can't really have "stealth" in an over the top four player action game.

I'm not saying to remove all the explosives and change it with this. I mean, I sure liked the rocket and Claymore. The grenades, however, were not interesting, and I don't know what to say about the "Up attack". At least I wanted him to use a gun, or the knife. Or both. I don't know. I just didn't like that every single special attack he used lead to an explosion.

If he had a gun it would be shitty, and it wouldn't make him any more interesting than the grenade, since that made for some interesting combos and it added a new element to his game. If it was a pistol it would just be like Fox's Blaster, or maybe even Link's Bow, but with a grenade he had a type of weapon not commonly used by the other characters in the cast. What would a knife add to the character that melee attacks won't? Nothing. It fits the character, and I think Nintendo represented Snake well.

You expected them to go out of their way to do that in a kid's game? I'm thinking his gameplay was sufficiently entertaining for the target audience.

I know it's highly unlikely, but I wish "Naughty Dog" Crash was in this. :(

I think he has a shot, since it's the most iconic look Crash has and most people know him for that.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.
