Already?!

Dear lord, how long has it been since the Release of Pokemon Black and White?

Is it too soon?

But I guess I'm all set with the 3DS!

Yeah more Pokemon!

It'll be 3 years and a month as of October 2013. That sounds about right, considering Game Freak had 3DS devkits for a long time, and Black and White 2 were made with a small team and lots of content recycling. Not to mention they have other studios that assist on the 3D Pokémon graphics.

Considering the quick release, I'm betting they started work on this as soon as BW1 came out.
Anyway, ALL OF MY HYPE.

Wow, they're running out of ideas for the titles. And is it me, or is the Grass Pokemon similar to the Water pokemon in this current gen?

It's probably meant to be cartesian coordinates, X Y (and maybe a Z a couple years later) because it's a 3DS game using fully polygonal graphics. Better than colours for once.

Yeah, I did realise it was for the coordinates. That's why I said they're running out of ideas for the titles. But I didn't think of the "Z" possibility, which is unfortunately quite realistic.

Pipe dream time: 'Z' would be available as a boxed product or cheaper DLC expansion to owners of X or Y. After how much content New Super Mario 2 got, I bet Nintendo will sell something for Pokémon.

We now return to the real world.

I thought it was referring to genetics, but okay.
Looks like I'm buying a 3DS.

This game looks so damn good visually, but it's barely been enough time since Black and White, what the hell.  Love the water starter's design.

Oh wow, that does look good.  I always tell myself I'm done with Pokemon, but then the next set of games comes out and I get too curious for my own good.  I'll probably end up picking this one up too.

So looks like they're finally ditching sprites despite what their claims that they would never do that.

Also what the fuck, simultaneous international releases on October this year?

That means Gen 5 only lasted 3 years, 2 months in japan and... 2 years, 7 months in the US? Thats the shortest generation next to Gen 1 (2 years, 1 month in US). Oh well, I blame the fact that B/W/B2/W2 were released so late in the DS's lifespan for its early demise.

Also, people hoping for Ruby/Sapphire remakes got trolled hard.

EDIT: Just realized Gen 2's lifespan in the US was 2 years, 5 months. Okay, so Gen 5 is the 3rd shortest, big whoop.

EDIT 2: anyone else think of some horrid frankensprite of Dewott and Nuzleaf after seeing Chespin's design?

EDIT 3: Just noticed the DNA Double Helix in the japanese logos. Then I looked at the Dewott & Nuzleaf comparison I made earlier. I see what you did there Gamefreak

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.

Lucky me, this game comes out at just around the best time. I'll have to save up a bit though.

Praying hard that we don't get Fire/Fighting again :(

Also felt that it's so early for a Gen 6.  And being released simultaneously worldwide?  I barely had 4 months with BW2!!  Motivates me to rush.

Still, feels like a ported Coliseum/Gale of Darkness for the GCN with the absence of sprites, unless the PC Box somewhat adds them.  Hopefully they'll update Global Link and Dream World for Gen 6.  The designs for the starters are pretty cool to me, though Fennekin looks like a recolored Zorua.

Why do I feel that the "X" legendary is related to the Musketeer Trio?  "Y" Legendary is MissingNo. [/dream]

Oh god dont even mention it

But I'm curious as to whether they'll change the type chart this time (Poison SE against Water, cmon).

Looking at the competitive angle, I wonder how many Pokemon that are currently OU are going to drop out when Gen 6 hits. I mean, in Gen 5 we had so many previously top tier pokemon for multiple generations fall down to UU or lower (Suicune, Zapdos, Swampert, hell even Mew fell from ubers to UU). I'm starting to wonder if Skarmory's time as OU is finally up (with stuff like Ferrothorn and Gliscor more or less replacing its role from Gen 2 & 3 as physical wall). Still too early to tell though, but I get the feeling a good number of stuff is going to become bottom of the barrel while the usual shit (Tyranitar, Scizor, Terrakion, Blissey namely) are going to stay in OU.

Y" Legendary is MissingNo.

Lets see if learns Water Gun... twice  ;)
