I wonder if the extra work they'll have to put on this game (animating over 700 models) will have an impact on the number of new pokemons.

Wow i don't hate all the starter Pokemon first time since Gen 2 for me, Fennekin  gonna be my choice.

That's two of us. In fact, it's something I always do. I always pick a Fire Pokemon as starter. It's been like that since Charmander from the first Pokemon game.

Foooooortunately, it doesn't look like the starter is going to be Fire/Fighting. But then again, Torchic didn't seem like a Fighting type, and then he turned out Fighting after the first evolution.

I'm pretty sure most of the models are recycled from Battle Revolution and Pokedex 3D Pro with minor adjustments, for older gens.

I actually thought they'd use the models in Pokedex 3d Pro. They proved me wrong.

They probably are, but with different textures because of the shaders and there's no self-shadows.

Looks like they're going back to the younger heroes for this one. I kinda liked Hilbert/Hilda/Nate/Rosa being older than 10.

Hm...they didn't reveal the new Eeveelution yet.

Send me a PM if you decide to add me on PSN, so I don't mistake you for a random Friend whore.

So theres already speculation talk on the Smogon forums that the starter trio might have secondary typings that creates an inverse type advantage cycle, specifically Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting. Might be cool if this actually happens just so the rival can't dick you out by taking the starter with a type advantage against yours (since all 3 starters will now have stab type advantage against the other two).

Edit: Or, it could be someone just fucking around with that old Dark/Psychic/Fighting starter trio that was "leaked" for Gen 4.

The trainer in the video starts out by looking in a mirror with glasses on his head...

...and at some point, he has no glasses in the overworld compared to the others.

This might be a shot in the dark, but maybe this might mean some character customization?

I had a 3DS but I took a flash photo of a cat late at night and now it's dead so I don't use my 3DS out of respect for the cat.

Dark/Psychic/Fighting

Hahahaha no. Dark has full on immunity to Psychic, whilst Psychic merely resists Fighting.

I think the only other three-way that would work would be Fighting/Flying/Rock, but I know THAT'S not happening.

You know, what would be interesting is that they kept all of the starters mono-typed instead of having weird type combinations.

And I agree that the Dark/Psychic/Fighting trio's a bit unfair since Dark is immune to Psychic, instead of resistant, unlike the Fire/Water/Grass trio.

Why is everyone's expecting another trio to go with the starter type trio?

All of that's hopeful thinking. There is no significant evidence pointing to the fact that they will implement another type trio.

If you read my earlier post, I said that it was speculation of dual typing for the starters, not another trio. But then later corrected myself and realized the possibility that it was just someone on smogon dicking around with a speculated alternate type trio that many people believed was going to happen in Generation 4 but never did.

But as Jango said, the dark typing creates too much of an imbalance within the cycle. Pretty much the only reason why the idea of a Dark/Psychic/Fighting trio exists was purely because of that image alone.

Edit: assuming all the starters start with tackle/pound/scratch/whatever, Rock/Fighting/Flying would be imbalanced thanks to rock resisting normal.

Smogon is known for bitching about typings as this article shows. Although that fire starting having a Psychic typing later on doesn't look too surprising.

The 3D in this game looks so majestic, very impressive. Will be checking all news from this

A couple of things I wanted to see, and perhaps that this new generation is happening I´ll throw them out:

- a Fire/Grass Pokemon. Bug/Fire was possible so yeah
- An Arceus counterpart (Arceus is the "God" among pokemon, wonder if there will be one playing the role of a Devil)

That´s it for now

We kind of already have the Pokemon version of the devil with Giratina.

Now can I please have a legendary poison type.

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

Pretty much this. God/Arceus creates Lucifer/Giratina, Lucifer/Giratina rebels, God/Arceus banishes him and makes him ruler of Hell/Distortion World.

Xerneas (reindeer) and Yveltal (bird) names revealed. Looks like we finally got our Quetzalcoatl equivalent.
