I have Squirtle's with Aura Sphere/Dragon Pulse with Torrent as the ability, I don't much care for Rain Dish.

However, the best moveset imo is:

Iron Defense/Hydro Pump/Aura Sphere/Dragon Pulse
Eh to be fair, me neither, but I figure the option should be there in the event I run into a Rain Team. Just like how the Bulbasaur I am now currently breeding is going to have Chlorophyll even though I'm not running a Sun Team. The only exception to this for the starters is Charmander's Solar Power. Dude's weak enough as is, he doesn't need to be losing more HP than necessary, especially when the only reason you'd have Charizard on your team is to mega-evolve it (Venusaur can hold his own even if he doesn't Mega-Evolve, for example).

Dunno why you'd run Iron Defense on that moveset, seems a bit counterproductive to me versus, say, a move that can boost attack or something. Now if you were going to be walling and healing, then maybe. Or if you were doing a Rain Team with (surprise) Rain Dish, then you'd have complementary healing with it prior to Mega-Evolving.

Also Dragon/Fighting/Water doesn't hit Shedinja, so if you run into him you're fucked. Granted, Dark/Fighting/Water gets resisted by Toxicroak, but that's why Ice Beam is there, not to mention that it does the same job as Dragon Typing, but has the added advantage of taking care of Grass types as well as TFC pointed out up there. Here's a list of types with perfect coverage for VGC 2014

Well, I don't always battle online, but I'd like to start doing more of it.

I'm in the process of building a couple of teams.

Thanks for that link, tho. It'll be useful.

Also, I run Iron Defense on Blastoise cause he's a damn tank and if I were to get one or two ID's on him, he's pretty much unstoppable, depending how you want to capitalize on his power.

I normally do 85 EV's on all my teams, because I prefer a balanced team.

Does anyone know of a competitive thread here? Thanks to Jango I have a Squirtle to use now for Mega Blastoise or a rain team, and I have my MegaZard Y/Chloro Venusaur setup for a sun team, but I feel like it would be better to have a separate thread for discussing these things unless nobody really cares

Also, 85 is a complete waste. If you would like to give your Alakazam an extra 21 points in attack, go ahead. But, at least go 84 each with one getting 90

You could try asking in PS (Pokemon Showdown) for more specific questions.

Most mega blastoise just go 252 SpA and 252 HP cause megatoise is pretty bulky with no investment in defenses. It will most likely live an unboosted attack if isn´t STAB.

Personally, I'm running the EV Spread that R Inanimate used in her (I think R Inanimate is a girl, could be wrong tho) last tournament because her justification is sound to me, and I've been a big fan ever since she beat the shit out of me way back in one of the Wi-Fi tournaments.

Maybe because until recently, Alakazam was one of the most powerful Pokemon to do a Special sweep? But yeah, investing ANY EVs into Attack for Alakazam is really pointless since Alakazam's physical movepool and Attack stat in general are both pretty bad.

In other news, with the Eevee Friendly coming up, I'm trying to see if I can breed a team of Eevees for it, and (as usual), give each Eevee its own ball. Currently I'm doing:

- Jolteon (Quick Ball)
- Vaporeon (Dive Ball)
- Leafeon (Nest Ball)
- Sylveon (Premier Ball)
- Umbreon (Luxury Ball)
- Espeon (Heal Ball) (would've preferred Dream Ball but since that's not feasible...)

As far as abilities go, I'm only trying to get Espeon with its Hidden Ability, because those are the only ones that would probably benefit, since I don't want to give up immunities on Jolteon/Vaporeon, Umbreon's normal ability is better by default, I doubt I'll be getting any Sun Teams to take advantage of Leafeon's hidden ability, and Sylveon's is pretty much pointless unless you're trying to make a Round Team.

I gotta check the rules, but aren't Move Tutor moves banned in this tournament? At least that how it was for pretty much every tourney up to this point.

If they're only allowing Kalos-bred mons, then yeah, move tutor moves (aside from the starter-only moves) are banned by extension. I haven't been keeping up on tourneys.

Jango, I have doubts about me entering this mini tourney with Eevees (recent one was the international one for a free Enigma Berry), but I have a spare Sylveon you can use, all EV trained and Flawless IV I had made months ago when I was crazy active in XY.

Though it's more around the special variety with egg move Wish.  Forgot what ball I used, Heal Ball I think.

Also before Armaggaddon had arrived in the servers I manage to get an overload of needable mons currently imprisoned in my Black 2 cartridge because I've yet to finish in Diamond for some reason (Vita sellout).  I do have a female Eevee with a Dream Ball, if not then I still have an Eevee in Entralink (before Dream World got nuked) yet to be catched along with other stuff.

So I just need to breed that to send it.

Planning of being more active when Omega Ruby arrives.  Fortunately I still have a team that can be used in my local gathering.

Isn't there a way to breed Hyper Voice onto a Kalos native Eevee?
