According to announcement on Serebii, its confirmed to have over 700 (considering we currently only have 649, thats at least 51 new additions).

In keeping with Pokemon tradition, however, we can expect to see anywhere between 100-156 new pokemon (meaning anywhere between 749 and 805 pokemon total).

On average I'm expecting somewhere in the ballpark of 770 Pokemon this Gen (Gen 2 introduced 100, Gen 3 gave us 135, Gen 4 was 107, and Gen 5 was 156.. Thats about 124.5 new Pokemon per generation on average, which comes out to about 773.5.. Close enough)

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.

We kind of already have the Pokemon version of the devil with Giratina.

Now can I please have a legendary poison type.

Now that you say it, you´re right. I can´t believe I never thought of that before considering 4th Generation legendaries were presented pretty much as deities.

I still want my Fire/Grass type. Dem sunny day benefits.

Poison needs a lot of buffs in general.  Tired of my favorite type needing a type 2 to be viable.

i wonder who the new gym leaders gonna be and all that, new elite four and new champion, and will there be a pokemon anime season based on pokemon x/pokemon y? yeah, unlike most pokemon games where versions of each pokemon game is based on colors, this one for now will be versions based on letters of the alphabet, will there also be a villain team and rival to face, i mean so far we faced team rocket, magma, aqua, galactic, and plasma, who's next?

Ugh. Now I have to buy a 3DS.

No need to worry, I got myself a 3DSXL, a blue one to be precise.

thats awesome bro are you gonna fucking give it to him
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.
