Portrait Separation for MK Characters?

Long title but whatev..

I was curious, how would I go about enabling separate character portraits for juano's Mk characters?
For example, The default select screen portrait for SoulNinjaMk3/scorpion.def on mugen would be different from Soulninjamk3/smoke.def.

How would I be able to accomplish this, more than likely, simple task?

Have a different SFF file for each character, and set it to the appropriate DEF files.

So copy the character ect. amount of times and change the 9000, 1 on each of them, correct?
