Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
first the battery won't last so pretty soon it becomes a portable desktop, and once it is slightly outdated it would annoy you since you are forced to deal with it lowering the graphic setting or buy a new one, and then it is huge, and weigh a ton, plus you need to bring its charger around, extra keyboard+ mouse+ mousepad, gamepad, external drive(s), cooling pad, to the point it is hardly portable at all since you'll be walking around with a huge and heavy bag.
for gaming in my opinion desktop is the way... much cheaper, modular (individual part is upgradeable & replaceable), has lots of USB ports, much better cooling (longer lifespan), can be put on the floor somewhere hidden away from your sight if you want a sleeker desk setup, or being proudly displayed if you're proud or want to brag about the stuff you put inside your PC case the spec and the look can be tailored to match your need and budget.
and laptops are just for work, multimedia, etc. so it is a lightweight, decent looking 14"
that is my own opinion though...
