If PSN gets crippled this badly on a DDOS attack, it really shows Sony doesn't even have a proper Plan B for this situation. What would you expect from a company that stored credit card information from their users in a plain text file?Exactly. Shit like this is why I haven't bought a PS4 or Vita. Sony's losing me lol. Probably gonna stay pure PC/Wii U this gen. *Insert a Console-tan WiiU PC shipping here*i'll try to buy a wii U next year, a friend of mine is always bitching me about SMB and i need to buy a i5 or i7 to play Elite and Star citizen
Their twitter says that the system is gradually coming back online so if we're lucky it'll be back tonight,
Same here. I've had Sony in my life since PS1 but the system just costs way too much and SF5 is the only game I know of that I'd want on it and one game isn't enough to spend that kind of money.PC and WiiU is more than enough this gen.
Really the PS4 and XBO are both embarrassments IMO. This console generation is sorry as hell and I have no plans to join it ATM. Wii U makes an excellent companion to the PC IMO. Plus Nintendo won't make you pay for online like Sony and MS do!
I will probably join it when the second model comes along, right now theres not enough to justify the pull but my growing plus library kinda holds some appeal. Whenever I do join the games that were already out will be cheap as dirt , so I will be able to do the same i did with ps3 and just bank on that.

Also Wii U has it's exclusives, good ones at that.
Woah, guess I'm the oddball here -- I'm partial to the PS4, but then again I can't share any reservations considering I've got it as a surprise gift. :3What I will say however is that the Wii U definitely has the reigns. Plenty of charming exclusives to sink one's teeth into.
Mgbenz said, December 27, 2014, 05:48:54 pmI'll really just get the PS4 once FFXV and KH3 comes along. It's pretty much dead to me right now.Yeah, that's where I'm at too. And with the development cycles of those games it'll have probably had a significant discount so win-win.

"This generation" is gong to last anywhere between 5 and 10 years, not just a year or two. Are you saying there won't be any game you'll buy on the new consoles for all that time, even counting those not yet announced - or even thought of ? Or that the price tag won't go down ?

That much is obvious, but discarding the whole gen like that sounds shallow. Thngs will change, more games will come out. A lot of people wait for that before buying a new console without saying "I'll sit out that generation" so early.

Say you're going to stick with one for the entire gen but give it a year and your opinion's going to change either way.Hell I swore off the Xbox One when all the Draconian stuff was announced but now I'm just apathetic towards it and would actually enjoy one if I ended up with one
Wii U underpowered with no games.lol XBone.PS4 will save console gaming.Funny how things change in a year. Like some kind of wizardry or something.

Are you saying there won't be any game you'll buy on the new consoles for all that time, even counting those not yet announced - or even thought of ? Or that the price tag won't go down ?I honestly don't think there will be enough console exclusive games to make me get a PS4 this generation. Even the PS3 has been a let down for me and it's still around $180 new! Basically it's mostly my fault. I'm not much of a gamer anymore. Casual 2D fighter play is the only thing that draws me away from Nintendo anymore. But yeah, a lot can change in 5 years. Not impossible I'll change my mind.Last generation I was more "I'll wait" and didn't join the gen till after SF4 came out. This time I really feel I probably just won't get the PS4 the whole gen.
Last gen's systems still generate a profit so they're still kind of expensive. You have to wait until like 3 years into the current gen for the last gen to end. You'll probably be waiting until like 2017 if you want PS3s to go cheap (well working ones anyway, if it's anything like the Vita you'll be able to find tons of busted ones cheap)Hell I still want a PS3 if only for Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Metal Gear Solid 4 and the HD collection, but at the same time I want a 360 because folks I know use that for online.Decisions, decisions

7 years after a console release is quite some time to release a PC port (MGS4 came out in 2008). I also just found out that the HD collection was on 360 too (and Vita but that sounds cumbersome, though having all MGSs on the go sounds nice, even if 3 (I think?) is on the 3DS).
The only way to play MGS4 is still on PS3, none of the collections include it except the Legacy one on the PS3.Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyThis was my opportunity to joke that you can get all of MGS4's "gameplay" from Youtube, but that is simply too much of a low hanging fruit for me.
