Yeah, I played the Definitive Edition so I can judge the story on it's own merits without having to worry about defending gameplay or getting distracted by fedoras and the like
The story was full of Importance but not very clever
Virgil in particular is some of the worst characterization I have ever been privy to and some of it is just because the writer was clearly aware there had to be a fight between Dante and him at the end but not so aware as how to build up to it with any tact whatsoever
We the best
We will cut a frowny face in your chest, little wench
I'm unmentionably fresh, I'm a mensch, get correct
I will walk into a court while it wrecks, screaming "Yes!
I am guilty motherfuckers, I am death."
Hey, you wanna hear a good joke?
Nobody speak, nobody get choked
