Nuclear Power Plants..oh they are so safe....

Here in germany our conservative gouvernment just expanded the lifetime of older nuclear power plants last year.

There in Japan..one of the so called earthquake-safe nuclear plants is going to explode which means massive enviroment damage for the whole planet.

This wont affect only japan..this affects us all. So no..i dont pray for the japanese people, i pray that we fucking stop being so dumb and arrogant to underestimate physics we dont understand or can control.

On deviantart, one of my favourite internetsites  people are uploading "i pray for japan" pictures with hearts and even anime girls now..getting tons of positive feedback for those even. How silly people are..how silly.

Nuclear Power Plants..oh they are so safe....

you understand that out of 55 nuclear power plants in japan, only this one has been affected so severely? and that the core, and the containment area around it, has not broken down? the video of the explosion being linked to around the internet is just the outer, purely cosmetic structure being destroyed due to hydrogen ignition. radiation levels in the area have been dropping steadily and the evacuations are simply a necessary precaution in case there is some circumstance that causes a containment breach, which is becoming less and less likely to happen. japan is practically the forefront of nuclear power plant design, they know what they're doing.

out of 450 commercial nuclear power plants in operation across the world, there has only been two major incidences : three mile island (which was safely contained) and chernobyl (which basically had no failsafes in place to prevent disaster). but if people want to spout off shit like "nuclear power is unsafe", i'd be more than happy to create a separate thread to list every single massive incident dealing with oil, natural gas, or coal in the past decade for comparison.

And this one isnt one too many if radioactive gases are spread hmm?

considering how quickly those gases dissipate in the air? or that modern containment and clean-up procedures can nullify most of the hazardous effects of a reactor going postal? no. no it is not one too many.

the main concern about nuclear power plants is the nuclear waste.

Not at all.
i don't think you get it

Getting what, Titiln? ANY human technology can stop that movement.

Perhaps you know a lot of economy and all, but about geology, maybe not. Africa is breaking, one side is going to the south, another is going to the north(impacting with Spain) and etc.

Now, if you're talking about something different, explain yourself.

Well seeing as Africa contains some of the most advanced civilization known to man and the wealthiest countries in the world. I think they can handle a little bit of continental separation. Plus they have a very forgiving climate, relatively tame diseases compared to the rest of the world, and they suffer from literally no natural disasters ever. Seriously, Africa fucking rocks. And even if the continent is breaking apart, each country within Africa has such a good and responsible government, they will band together and fix the problem. Just like we did in the movie Deep Impact (my favorite movie just because of the title).

Yeah oil is not safe, but neither is nuclear waste and its 2000 year shelf life.

We should only use nukes as a temporary solution until we get better solar, wind, geothermal, or tidal power.

Which Japan and Germany are the leaders of Solar power, so lets cut the nuke some slack.

i know about reading
By those people's logic and according to the history we're taught, Africa is the safest place on the planet. I sure don't want to be in the U.S when it's paid back for slavery and successful genocide! Fucking morons.
he's saying that, according to the people that think this earthquake was caused because of pearl harbor, africa is the safest place on the planet because natural disasters are caused as retribution for crimes against humanity. if this earthquake was caused because of pearl harbor, the rest of the world will also get similar disasters (like america will get theirs for slavery and genocide). africa is the safest place because relatively speaking they've done less crime than the other countries

of course you know people are researching ways of safely getting rid of nuclear waste.
