Wow. Take it easy man. It's not that serious. Really.
I said a few sentences. It's not that serious, why would you think that? It's not like a typed out an essay about the evils of commercialism or something, I just wanted to say that it was never designed nor meant to show off gay pride, so using that as a justification for keeping it was ridiculous. C'mon.
But the people who were calling it a gay star were speaking facetiously. Your response would suggest that you took their responses seriously… too seriously —except in Basara’s case, but Basara’s a bit of a nut [/jk

I'm pretty sure Bea wasn't serious.

Caddie's the only person being particularly facetious about this.

That bothers me tbh, I always thought it was kind of dumb that the COTM winner star has to get passed around, would be nice if every winner could keep it you know? It's not really that easy to win that contest...
I think the star would eventually start to lose meaning if we did that.

Also not to mention some people didn't even get that star at all because SOMEONE forgot to pass it around.
I'm going to murder you with a large knife.

No more so than the Contributor star IMO, and the CotM is more important because it's something that was actually voted as the best of that month. And it's only 12 guys a month at best (less if it's the same guy several times), plus one per year. Sure there would be something like 60 guys with it after 5 years, but it's not different from the Contributor star IMO.
At the most, the monthly star can be removed after a year, and the yearly star, never, but removing the monthly star at the end of the month makes it completely unnoticeable IMO, which just makes it useless. People don't check people's stars that often, no one would ever realize that someone won it for a month.

i agree with the above. the current way COTM stars are is kind of pointless. worst case scenario 60 people will have it in 5 years. alternatively just don't use them at all

I wanted the stars to be forever initially, but everyone said no. Once again proving that I'm the most insightful person on the staff. Promote me to super admin please.

I guess a month is maybe too short, but I still don't think they should last forever; IIRC the reasoning behind making them temporary was that we wanted to keep people motivated to still keep reaching for the star (it's a dumb tiny star yeah and not that important, but I dunno I want it back).

A year is probably fair, I guess?

you can blame bia for that, it was only a random start atributed to a random user as a simple joke; it landed on bia once and bia liked it enought to ask for it; nobod saw any harm on that, foolish they were as it created the biggest flamewar in mugen since mc2 asked for personman to be demoded.

That was like

the internet equivalent of yesterday.

That's like saying 'this is the best meal I've eaten since the last meal I've eaten'

what are you doing.

Even though that makes a lot of sense, I'll still go back to comparing it to the Contributor star. I haven't actually released anything in half a decade and I still have mine ! Where's my incentive. I think keeping it is worth it because it seems like a pretty good achievement to have some pride for. Removing it makes you feel forgotten. ... I'd guess.

Your incentive is to get off your butt and make a character that's good enough to win CotM! That Jin topic has been open for a while, you must not be serious about wanting the star!!!

You busted me, I've been holding out in hope the star becomes permanent before releasing it ! So do it or you're never getting the finished release >:)

Goodbye, good ol' friend. :(
It was nice to see you around again, even if for this short bit. You will always have a place in my memories.
You were a good companion to have ahead during the start of my transition. I raise a glass of good wine for you.

Fare thee well, rainbow star.

in the spirit of COTM, why don't you make a poll to decide how long the stars should last (month, year, forever)
