I've got Gimp 2.6. I'm using the MvC2 Jin sprites I got from the MvC fan-game site. For some reason, the palette is "read only" and it wont let me do anything.... How am I supposed to get this thing working correctly? It's kinda annoying. Thanks for the help..
you might have to do that again later if somehow you burn the file into a dvd or other read only storage media.
Uh... I'd already checked the PNG files themselves to make sure they're not read only... But, all I have are sprite sheets. I tried clicking the save button under the palette editor, but, I have no idea where the file is being saved to...
that's the palette dialog in Gimp, rather complicated compared to Photoshoppretty self explanatory there, in the example I clicked on palette file, since I have them, but if you want to use the palette from the picture, click the image instead.
wait are you talking about importing palette in gimp or saving a palette?to save it, save it as .act and put it somewhere that would be uploaded with your character later, can be just scattered in character folder, or inside another subfolderyou can specify the location where you put your palette file in your character's .def
Well, the invisible color isn't even set yet, so, that's what I have to do 1st. I can edit the palette in fighter factory, but, I need to get the transparent color set 1st.... I have the transparent color set for a single sprite now...... But.. Now, I'm going to have to go back, and recolor every sprite now, because I don't like the way things are with the palette... Guess I better get started... Wait a second... Turns out there was color-loss in the sprite... And I've successfully converted one sprite... Now, I've just got a bunch more to go... lol....
The 1st sprite... on the right.. came out just fine, but, when i added the 2nd sprite... that's what happened...EDIT:And nothing I try works.... EDIT:I've fixed it!.... All I needed was a day away from the thing to get my patience back... I knew what I had to do, but, didn't feel like doing it at that moment... So, yeah, I guess this question is now SOLVED..
