After getting some wonderful advice from Rajaa, I decided to "pratice" on making my own small portraits. I made this one for K.O.D's Kyo Kusanagi, but I wasn't quite sure which one looked better so I'll let you fella's be the judges.V.1: V.2:
Dude not bad for your first portraits!... also I took a look at it and it seems that they both look the same, the fact that the pixels are in the same place as the other one... iboth are good in my opinion, great job and welcome to the small portraiters club! Soon ill be posting a few I created myself.

Palettes are but a stylistic preference on behalf of the creator, small portraits are something a lot of characters could genuinely use.

UMVC3 to be exact. But, yea, I completely agree with you, I should've done something more easier, but it feels good to try something new. Thanks for the kind words, Secret.
If you are going to work with MvC3/UMvC3 art you need to make the black outlines as least notorious as possible, I have worked with this art in the past and will difficult to work with it produce pretty satisfactory results. Obviously there is plenty of artwork for work with Spider-Man is a little zoomed in but I understand the patterns can be a headache thought in this one are very nicely done Haggar and Mai are great

Shin Gouki by P.O.T.SI understand that there's alot of black, but I ran out of red...feel free to fix it up, if needed.
That's awesome! It could also work with Sagat if you flip the image horizontally and recolored it. Just saying.
That's the first of your work I don't really like I'm afraid. It's far too zoomed in, and the colors on the default palette makes it looks hard to make out any details.

I think the shades in the mouth are way too dark and you used the darkest tone so is looks bad, add some more definition to that mouth using other colors of the skinRecommendation: Look at the art you used to give you an idea of how to improve it Nice use of the MvC2 Art
THe mouth needs to be rounded. Right now it just goes across in a straight line in both images. Rounding off the edges a bit would go a long way.
V1:V2:Fixed. I made two versions. Personally, I think V1 looks better than V2. I'll let you guys be the judge on that one.

I'd reccomend using the darkest gradiants from his skin to do the dark lines between his teeth if at all or possibly even use the colors from his electric shocked skeleton seeing as hardly nobody changes those ...yeah let me know if you do take requests!
