Thanks for the feedback people.

So far I've sprited walking, running/dashing, jumping etc.
I still need an anim for him rolling on the ground, all attacks, hitstates and endings/intros. + coding...

ground pound (like Jax)
Could be edited from Yashiro ... and also, he fits the build, he could use it as a base for other things too, I think.

good idea, thanks!

KoF Maxima is the best base you could use for him. Give him some of Maxima's moves like Vapor Cannon and Bunker Buster and add some new ones. He already has the chest fireball, so some new ones could be a ground pound (like Jax) and a car morph for a hyper (AI from NGBC has the sprites of Robo Army's car morph already).

I've checked Robo Army as a reference and Maxima's and Rocky's specials differ a little. I am going to use Maxima as a reference of course, but add some changes.

Rocky is a sort of robot or cyborg.

For this sort of char, maybe Cyrax and Sektor from Mortal Kombat 3 can give you some ideas, even if the universe of KOF and MK is very different.

Sure, gonna try that, we'll see if MK moves match KOF style.

Btw. what do you think of this edit:

could be used for an intro...

Robo Army itself could be used for much inspiration for specials and whatnot.

Since it's a beat-em-up a few of the items that can be picked up and used as weapons could be interesting ideas for supers.

Also, don't forget that in Robo Army, the player can transform his/her character into a futuristic car and run through the enemies as well.  That could be interesting.

Rocky's striker sprites could also give some inspiration:

I'm thinking of giving Rocky a striker/helper based on one of the bosses from robo army (the gigant ape), what do you guys think?

Also maby something like Ai from ngba had, "teleported" (anim used similarly to Ai) weapons, maby also something to throw

I know, people here pointed me to ngbc sprites of the car. The problem is it can be used for an intro, but not necesarly for a special (the car is not paralel to the screen). Perhaps I'll try to draw a different version that could actually be used for a move.

Personnaly, I don't like striker or helper... I prefer when a char fight by himslef.

And I also don't like "teleported weapons". Rocky is a Cyborg, not a magician.

I prefer weapon like his chest gun, but it is just a personnal idea. Make like you want.

I think it's a good point, most likely Maxima will appear only in intro and/or ending

And I also don't like "teleported weapons". Rocky is a Cyborg, not a magician.

I'm not sure here. I'd like to add a super with ther car from Robo Army (the car was teleported), other weapons maby (or maby not)
And yeah chest gun is a must!

btw progress on attacks is kinda slow, but what go you guys think about this:

Probably just have the pickups as specials/supers. You don't have to have them teleported into the battle.

having played Robot Army SO much in the past, and seeing your sprites, this is exciting :)

idea for a super or special: like in the game, he lifts a crashed car and throw it at opponent (using/editing the in-game sprites so that each time it shows a different car color or something...although im not sure it would fit in KOF style)

anyway best of luck on this!

I was considering that, but faced some problems. Mainly the car would have to fall on the stage from above and I don't think this would fit KOF style at all.
I'm however thinking of adding something like zvitor did for Wolverine: in one of infros Rocky would destroy a robo army drone and as in the game, it coul;d loose an arm that rocky could throw at the opponent.

actually, it could be a hyper: Rocky runs (or jumps back) to the stage corner (the one facing his back), grabs a car from outside the stage and throws it

to be honest, I have a problem to imagine that. say rocky is near an opponent in a corner of a stage. now he has to run/jump to the far corner, possibly during a superpause. then has to jump back and execute a throw. maby you could point me to an example of such a move.

This kind of move was one of my ideas for a strikes. when maxima does that it could be similar to KOF 2000 striker system...

anywow, have a look on this:

I now 2 more regular standing attacks (both kicks)

Those are looking very good.
If you need any ideas for robotic attacks or so,Sektor and Cyrax from MK9 could be a good source.i think.
