June 21 in Japan, it's already licensed in several countries in South America (Chile, Argentina, Mexico, I think Brazil too), and for France, Toei wants it to air before the end of the year (but the companies involved are still fighting it out and they're dumb and might not sign anything before the movie actually comes out in Japan)

Reboot of the Sanctuary Arc, with redesigned Cloths. Very weird at first, but it seems to work in action. So far no Silver Saint has been seen, no Marin, Shaina, Ptolemy (Athena does get an arrow to the chest no I'm not doing the exact same joke in two posts within 20 minutes of each other but we don't know who shoots it).

- Ikki vs Shiryu downtown fight, with Shiryu apparently holding something aimed at Ikki when they clash...
- Athena is going to take an arrow to the knee chest and will be useless for most of the movie, AGAIN. But we know from the full trailer that she goes full goddess mode at the very end with Sagittarius Seiya, so that's nice.
- lol, Pegasus Ryuuseiken is made of tiny, shiny Seiyas making a fist forward and flying through the air, darting left and right, wtf
- LIGHTNING motherfucking PLASMA. Aiolia was the first of the Gold to be revealed, and his helm looked very weird at the time, but between the full trailer and this, it just works.
- now that we can view it in 720p, that punch action at the very end with Seiya, seen from above... the other one is Saga and his armor really is black on one side with his hair mostly black but with white strands. ... Okay, we'll see.
(also, Ikki seems to be doing a Rider Kick)

It seems like Toei wants to see how well it works and has said they might make a TV series out of it. Might not be CG though, that'd be weird.

Been waiting for this for a while now, some of the designs are ok I guess while others are a WTF reaction, examples: have you seen Camus of a aquarius with that predador gun on his shoulder? Milo of Scorpio literaly looking pretty close to scorpion from Mortal Kombat? And how about Mu of aries with freaking reading glasses? Yeah.... not what I was expecting but ill give it a try... You know, I just don't get how people are so upset over that one. I mean, Aldebaran has a freaking ring in his nose like a bull, but people think Mu having glasses is a problem.
And the Final Fantasy joke is getting stupid.

Just wished that at least the models had more resemblance to the manga or anime but I guess its ok... a modern touch never hurts once in a while, about the Final Fantasy joke ok I get it, most 3D/ CGI anime movies look that way nowdays... anywho im watching this soon as it comes out on Blu- Ray since not that many countries are showing this on theaters, as far as i know, a Miami theater will show this on a bigscreen for fans and im in CA  :-\

Up, they re-released the last big trailer and added a teaser of every Gold Saint at the end, in 3 versions.

Saga is (apparently) going to be in his own temple (it's still daytime), and this time it's pretty obvious that Milo is a woman, the VA didn't even try to make her voice a little more masculine or even a Goku-like voice.

Oh, by the way, for the Libra Saint/Dohko, they're doing a drawing contest for the Cloth that runs from May 22 to June 22 (knowing that the movie opens on Jun 21). So the Libra Cloth is a no-show in the movie. And I'm wondering how many people will just try to copy the manga version and/or not care for the style of all the other Cloths, and if it will show that people don't care for the redesigned style.
(Dohko is still Dohko, Shiryu's master etc., we just don't get to see the Cloth)

edit - wait a minute, those big things when Aiolos is flying, he's dodging Aldebaran's Great Horn...
Also I wanted to say that the Gold Cloths actually don't look too bad in motion.

Latest edit = just changing the videos for a single one with all versions and no watermark.

In the last scene I'm pretty sure Saori's butt should hurt more than Seiya's back with that Cloth on.
It seems like a lot of people have gotten used to the new designs, in action it looks pretty good.
BTW, Milo was confirmed as a woman. Lots of fans complain the same way a comics changes a character from White to Black. Even though this is a reboot and it would even be fine if Saga was genderbent and never mind that Milo is the one with the least characterization and it has no impact on his character if he's gender switched.

Milo does have a bit of characterization as a sort of judge and executioner with the offer of redemption, against Hyoga then Kanon. ... Well, it's not much, but it's not different from those two.

dsagree with aiolos, he si brought up a lot of times and his influence is felt for most of the series, as if seiya looks up to him. then aldebaran, the restof his characterization si nto even his, so I give you that one being as bad as milo, I mean we later find out that the name is inherited and not his real name, but it's not even from this generation aldebaran, but from teh canvas one, which gets much more characterization than this generation's. then he also is used as a sacrifice to show us how much stronger than the gold saints the asgard saints are (lol, not really).

I mean all of Aiolos is just "saved baby Athena and died for her" and Aldebaran is "big fun guy". Shura, Deathmask, Mu, Aiolia, they all have some more depth of character beyond just the things that happen to them (Aldebaran and the Worf effect) or how others see them.

Rewatched the video with sound now, the music is pretty damn cool.

as what aiolos did when alive it's about that, but then unlike aldebaran or milo aiolos also has more impact on the other characters, like he is the reason his little brother ights for the wrong side even when he suspects that as well as being the example the bronze saints follow, how significative he is to the plot is what makes me not want to put him on the same level as milos and aldebaran.

It was played at a festival in France two days ago (it'll play again this Saturday) and what I'm gathering from comments I see is that old school fans are massively pissed.
First thing I see the most is that it's just too short - some characters get like 10 seconds of screen time (Aphrodite comes up and gets instantly killed, Shaka just comes out to cancel the illusion on Aiolia). Another thing is that it looks like no one followed the dialogs - I've seen people complain about stuff missing and others respond that they did mention it in the dialogs (although quickly). And then there's... the final fight.

It's also a lot of the Bronze 5 getting their ass brutally kicked by the Golds, especially Shun and Ikki. Shun apparently doesn't use a single attack, just defends and gets demolished. Some of the stuff that a lot of people missed, meaning it might not be very clear, tie to Saga's personality stuff (apparently there's some hint of it but it's not very explicit if you don't expect it, I guess) and parts of the whole "breaking your limits" thing (Seiya, Shiryu and Hyoga do have their two minutes of glory for that though).
Oh, and Deathmask sings through his fight like a Disney character apparently. He was also compared to Deathtoll's crazy fun (from Saint Seiya Next Dimension) if you ignore the singing.

In the end, what I'm gathering is that they violently toned down the whole "Bronze 5 speed through the 12 Temples and kill Gold Saints left and right like cake" running gag of the old series. But the fights and the visuals are awesome. It's just that what we see in the various trailers is pretty much the entire movie, in the end. Also, they flat out gave up on half the cast, and the other half they tried to expand on their personality (singing Deathmask) to make them more unique.
I myself am still looking forward to it, most of what people complain about are stuff that I totally expected (Aphrodite getting dunked into the trash can in five seconds by the Pope through Another Dimension) and I'm not hung up on the minute details of the manga.

So, does Saga use Another Dimension and Galaxian Explosion? If not, not watching the movie. Already disappointed by it after reading that summary, but watching Saga using those moves was the main reason I wanted to watch that film.

AD on Aphrodite to surprise-one-shot-kill him, GA is seen to be used in the quick teaser that introduced all Gold Saints (well, we see him start it up, but of course it's in) (apparently it gets broken through by Seiya, by the way, because why the fuck not)

Yeah, since no one paid attention to the dialogs, it's not too clear why Saga kills Aphrodite, but from the context, since he's only appearing at the very end when the other Gold Saints are gathering around Athena and figuring out what's going on, it seems like he's an idiot and he comes to Saga saying "dude, everyone is saying you're a big evil asshole, is that true ? .... What are you doing ? No no no, stay away from m-- *trashcan'd*" so this time he might not be a bad guy.
By the way, Athena is around the Bronze, not stuck at the bottom of the Sanctuary, Ptolemy's arrow is sucking her cosmos out (probably to Saga) instead of leaving her in a coma.
Oh, and all saints wear some sort of dogtag, which they throw on the ground, and the Pandora Box appears out of it. When 4 of those are used, they open a gate to an other dimension where the Sanctuary is.

Trailer on the assassination attempt. I really don't think it's good for Athena because holy shit this voice makes me want to slap her very hard. I'm still not worried since she does accompany the Saints through the Sanctuary so I trust she gets better.


So this aired. Can't find a better version.
- Ikki does one awesome Rider Kick
- Sagitta Saint
- explanation for how they decided to go with this the "spectral" thing in special attacks
- why they chose to animate faces and do Cloths this way

There's also been a camrip of the final fight against Saga and the Disney-like scene with Deathmask, but... these are massively controversial and it definitely scares the shit out of all fans. I prefer not to post them here because I believe it's better to see it in context. For Deathmask they definitely went with giving him a unique characterization that allowed them to show off (in the first place, the whole movie is more of a showcase of what Japan can do in 3D CG so they changed stuff around as a kind of proof of concept, but I still like it myself), and for Saga, it's just 100% a last boss from Final Fantasy so just forget about the manga. But Seiya does have a one-on-one gutsy fight against Saga so the manga version is still actually there, it's just not the last thing.
