Super Butoden 1 Goku

Sprites remastered by Omega
Coding by Ryon

I hope you guys enjoy this character, This is for all those SB fans out there who want to see a good SB character with nice graphics and gameplay.
A lot of you will dislike the commands for some moves and the super commands, but that's how they are.

This is a full release, but also a beta at the same time, any feedback is appreciated as always.
and I apologize for the filesize.
I ripped the earth explosion from Tenka Ichi 3 at 640,480 resolution. and i converted them to minimal color loss.
so... its because of that , the filesize is over 100mb. Normally it would be 5mb.

The beams seem to be giving back power .
The explosion graphics kinda stand out negatively, considering the blast is so small on screen adn then cuts to the video where its huge.
I really liked how you did his rushing super tho.

have you seen how it is in the games?

it could be a tiny thing that explodes into something HUGE like that.

I actually ripped the event from Goku (Early) in game doing it , and its about the same size as i have it compared to goku's size. also in T.I.3 i hate to say this but almost EVERYTHING, has a bigger than the world effect.

They use stock explosions in those games, just with different colours. you could probably get better effect  by using something in 2d that matched the frames.

I enjoyed customizing and updating his SB1 Sprite Sheet. His gameplay is very solid. Also, thanks to Chamat for animating his standing and charging sprites.

The beams seem to be giving back power .

I really liked how you did his rushing super tho.

I actually think the explosions are fitting but, I guess that is a matter of taste and liking. The specials and supers are all planned out by me and improved, coded by Ryon. We'll see what we can do about it as this is a beta release. Thanks buddy.

Ok, here's my feedback:

- no sound for the aura charge?

- in the power up command:

you missed this triggerall:

triggerall = power < powermax
this way, if you press x and a when you're at max power he won't go into the aura charge state;

- D,DF,F,y (three ki blasts) is an infinite if spammed (I know, the combo counter doesn't tell that, but you can't recover from it); the ki blasts could use power (and you could set the commands accordingly);

- the last hit of his Saiyan Rush (y+b) could have used the sound 1,0 in my opinion (being it a finisher);

- you can dash infinite times in the air (you could limit the dashes to two or three).

His gameplay is very solid.
I agree. Definitely a keeper.

Ah, by the way, the effect you ripped is from Budokai 3 (in the pic I linked it is caused by a Big Bang Attack I guess), not Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (why Tenka Ichi? :P).

And:
- the Spirit Bomb, Kamehameha and the ki blasts guardsounds are the default ones;
- you can recover from the second hit of the Saiyan Rush (y+b);
- when in Kaioken, if you get hit the red aura disappears and Goku doesn't get it back;
- the guardspark for the ki blast can be omitted;
- for the Saiyan Rage, this code:

Using Hyper Dimension Gokus Hair on Super Butoden Goku is a interesting choice, I like the sprites so far but I have a question, at 0:52 Goku is shown with Golden Hair, is this a Pal just for fun or is it a complete SSJ mode with Gameplay Changes?

It's just pallete for him. Goku is based between the Saiyan and Frieza Saga without the SSJ transformation.
I actually included a God pallete for Goku but, it has to be added in yet.

Also yes, I used Hyper Dimension Goku's hair with some customizing for this.

Nice work! after watching the video there was one thing on my mind. It's about time. I have been waiting for some one to do a Goku like this with the spirit bomb the correct voicing "share your energy with me" and the flying super OMG it's amazingly creative and everything I would have done. I really hope to see quality characters like this in the future. Great Job and congrats!

Thanks man. We appreciate it alot.

The super is Saiyan Rush. That one flying idea comes from Dragonball Z Super Saiya Densetsu wich is a RPG game for the snes. I was already ripping sprites from the game and I included the flying part as a small classical tribute for the super.

you could change his localcoord to make him bigger.
