I've been messing around with the system.def file in the default WinMugen directory of mine, and finally got it to hold a good amount of characters. But I seem to have done something that removed the border of each highlighted slot/character. When the P1 cursor is on anyone, all you see is their character slot picture, no border that let's you know who you've selected. I've gone and downloaded WinMugen again, and looked over the character selection area's default attributes and compared them to the ones I've made, but I must be missing something. Can someone tell me where in the system.def I need to go/change back to in order for a border to show up for each highlighted slot?
I'm unsure if I've sounded confusing to some, so for the sake of simplicity, here are some screenshots I just took (since I see there are views but no replies). The first one does show the corner borders that I'm looking for, but am unable to get them to show up:This one shows the screenpack slots I've been working on, and well, while I do realize the slots are incredibly small, I've seen other similar screenpacks that do still show some form of border for each highlighted slot, but this one...I don't know how to make it show:
use f12 for screenies. and I think you should leave the char slots alone for that screenpack in general. Once you get another screenpack you rly rly like, then you should fiddle around w/ it. Those slots might not have the border b/c you have too many slots. and if you fill that up, make sure there are no doubles haha

Okay, I managed to get the border to show up somehow, using Mugen Windows Configurator. But the problem is that the border is too large! =\ Someone know how to decrease it's size? Please? Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/Mikeym1979/borderisayes.png
To decrease its size, open the sff with fighter factory, extract the border sprites, resize them by hand with paint, photoshop, the gimp or whatever, and reinsert them in the sff.

I can't seem to find any type of way of doing so. There are things to open.def files, .air files, .cmd files, etc, but no .sff files.
Demitri Maximoff said, September 27, 2007, 04:35:48 pm There's a SFF tab somewhere between def and action/air.Sorry lol. Well, I actually couldn't find it. *shrug* I just right clicked the .sff file and opened it with FF. So, am I correct in saying that it's 4 sprites I need to resize here?
Well, I have absolutely no idea. You have to resize the sprite which looks like the border you want to have smaller. You need to find which sprite does what and modify the good one.

Now to insert them. O_O
Mmmkay, this is wierd. I'm not used to working with FF, as far as inserting .pcx files into .sff files. I did it, saved, loaded up Mugen, and it crashed. And, I'm tired of the fiddling. I've been doing it ever since I started trying to make a screenpack of 4000 slots from scratch (not using things like MWC, which I just discovered lol). Can someone please take the default WinMugen system.sff file, resize the sprites for the borders, which are about five. Resize them within Fighter Factory (I saw an option there), and see if it works for you? Resize them to 4x4. And upload it for me here lol. I'm about to give up on this.
