i like this one the best. i like the idea of making the VS larger than anything else, but i think it's too much. i'd make it smaller or the rest of the text bigger. but still bigger than the CAPCOM or THE WORLD text. the worldly shape in the O of WORLD looks a bit redundant with the actual world in the background. the "the" in the S just looks weird to read, i would've just put it next to the WORLD text. it's very good though i like it.

i'm not gonna comment on the select screen until it's further fleshed out but it looks good so far

I agree with the feedback Titiln gave about the title screen, except for the part about the small globe in the "world" logo, as its the official symbol for the world characters as shown in the roster thread. Also, i think you should keep the version with the diagonal lines, as it matches the motif of the select screen currently.

But yeah, everything is beautiful, and i cant wait to see it finished.  :)

I like the very first title/logo paired with the fourth select screen, provided that the colors are animated and not still. Though a better idea would be for the bottom polygon spot to be removed entirely and turn the stages themselves into the background, AND animated. But that's way more than you can probably chew, and it's me just being imaginative.

can I give my opinion?

- if you align the CAPCOM and the WORLD using the VS as a base, it gets more harmonic
- I agree with Titiln, the O doesn't needs the world shape and the THE could be in other place, so I moved it to WORLD word
- I like the lines idea, but if you use just in one direction in each case, it gives more moviment to the whole piece. And, don't use it behind the words, it makes things harder to read

Something like this:

It's better without lines period, though you just cut off some of the C of Capcom just then.

I would really rather the "O" stay the way it is, because as Chatman said, it's The World's "logo."

This has some shitty editing but I like this idea.

For sure, I don't have the original files and I make it quickly just to show the idea, not to be the real image.

you can remove the lines and align the capcom with the S too:

Removing the lines works, but why align Capcom with the S if "The World" is going to be in the same spot. I like Jacob~'s original logo better than all of them. Whether the O makes sense or not (I thought it was fine.)

I agree with Cazaki, recenter "Capcom" on the logo.  It's current position just looks weird.

The "O" in world bugs me.  Shouldnt it be more bold?
IMO, the "O"lacks the noble, epic and valant feel that the world actually has.

Plus, like I said, I'd really prefer it stay there. I see why it may seem redundant, but if he took it out, I'd have to change the logo, which would then just be the words "The World."

***IMPORTANT PLEASE READ***

Well, EXShadow has been forced to suspend work on the screenpack until further notice due to technical issues. Tomorrow he'll be sending everything that's done. I am now looking for someone that can continue to build upon his great work. I already have half the entire roster of the game done, and I'm looking to release a beta or demo soon. I have a basic title screen, logo/intro, and character select screen done. I just need a VS screen and lifebars that fit the look and theme of the project. I would appreciate any help anyone could provide.

I'm also looking for someone who can change some lo-res FX for Lynn Baker into nicer looking hi-res FX. Any help on that front would be great too.

So here's a look at the lifebars I've been working on. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I'm doing these myself, learning to code lifebars and all that. While I appreciate feedback, I should probably let you know that after all the work I put into these, the only thing I might change is the fonts, so these are pretty much final. These were originally green (lifebars/UT bar) and blue (powerbars), but I was told they didn't really fit the color scheme of the game. So, I tried to apply a similar gradient as seen in the big "VS" in this picture. More images in the spoiler:

As an aside, is anyone else having problems with Photobucket? I can't get anything to upload at all, so I had to use ImageShack for this.

I understand what you mean, but I don't think it's possible in Mugen, at least, if it is I don't know how it's done. SHADEs 1 had slanted lifebars that were coded by someone else, and they still depleted like these do (straight on the ends), so I'm not sure it can even be done.

I think the portrait parts look awkward personally.  If you take those off it will look great.  Or at the very least use something custom like what Ultimate MVC3 does for its similar looking portraits, since the head of the sprite just looks clashy.

Well, they originally had no portrait because I didn't want to deal with custom small portraits, but several people said they'd look better with a portrait part on the end. Now that I have added a portrait part, I plan on using custom small portraits that aren't sprite based.

Hmm tried contacting some of the screenpack makers around here? Or perhaps use something else in the meantime I suppose, since the focus of the demo should be the characters, the screenpack shouldn't be too much of an issue.

@Segatron

No one, that's just a stage I like. It won't be in the game. Even if NoZ would let me use it, I'd have a hard time finding at least 8 stages that are different enough but are all that nice looking. I need stages that are uniform in size and art style. I'd love to use stages that nice, but I'll probably end up with edited CPS2-style stages like I use in SHADEs, and I'll probably have to make them myself.

Wow, that would be awesome. What I mean is, 8 stages that look like they belong in the same game. They need to be different enough so that they're not redundant, and nothing too specifically themed (I don't want it to be like MVC3, where the 8 stages were all specific references). Other than that, anything would be cool. I've recently come up with a "story" for the game which would explain the stages not being specific references to source games. That way I can just get 8 stages that look good and all match in general art-style and size. I have several of your stages, and they're very nice, and some of them would work great for the game.

hmmm I already feel like there is a gap between random creation and the involvement in a whole game.

In fact, I understand the desire to have a common style for all the stages. Consistency. And on the top of that, if I was to join i couldn't leave it half way because I doubt many people would be able to finish the other stages and keep this consistent style.
I guess it's quite a serious decision for me. The problem is that I can't really say I have ONE style for my stages as I gather material a bit everywhere except for the anims that i mostly do myself 90% of the time.

I have a rather small collection of stage (like 40 or something like that) and I doubt we could say that they all have a similar style.

If you're okay with it, I would like to know about the scenario you have written. (of course i'll keep it confidential)
The biggest part for me is to be able to identify 8 concept that I know I can bring to life in a consistent way. 8 WIP pretty much.
If I can gather these 8 wips, then create them is the last part and not really a problem of course.

I can't guarantee anything for now, so yeah just let me know a bit more because "ANY stage" is quite vague still. I mean you don't wanna have a stage that takes place in the future and one that takes place in the middle age and feodal era (or do you ? lol), if you get my point.

* if you wanna include some stages I already made, you are free to go --> link in my banner

I'll keep this project in mind for future creations.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE.

After I mentioned my stages issues here, JeanBureau has officially agreed to make 4 stages for the game. Along with 3 or 4 of his existing stages that I have permission to use, EXShadow's Spacial Training Room, and two of NoZ's stages that he gave me permission to use, you can now look forward to 9-10 stages for the game, all hi-res. While the art styles won't be 100% consistent, they will be close enough that they will look like they belong in the same game, which is my intention. With some stages now locked down, along with my own work on the screenpack, a beta is now likely within the next month or so. I'm very excited to finally be able to release something besides individual characters. I hope you guys are looking forward to it as much as I am.
