Sorry for bumping, but I just can't stand, if someone watches the topic, but don't do anything!
So I'll lock that topic, until someone PMs me to unlock it!
EDIT: I can't lock the topic, can someone lock it for me?

No, best thing to do is start editing from the default Mugen screenpack.
Or you could find a screenpack you could edit, it takes patience but you can learn so much by looking at the def and sff files.

Does that means, I can open the DEF of an screenpack with Fighter Factory?

Yes.
It's more convenient to open a .def file with notepad.

Wait, it works that way, too? I should check it!
Also, about the post, where I wanted, that somone locks the thread, I was just frustrated, when I said it. After all, I want to release a demo at 24th December this year, and I want at least an basic, fonted version of the logo of my game, together with a starry bakground. About the screenpack problem, I'll use the advices of the forum, though I only can test the results tommorow...

The .sff stores all the sprites.  The def. stores all the information necessary to hold the screenpack together.

With Fighter Factory, you need to play around with it with it some more.
It opens all files needed for creation within Mugen.  That includes but isn't limited to .def, sff, air, cmd, cns and other types of files.

If you are using FF, then unless you are making a character (Which by opening the def file all other files are loaded) you need to open each file manually as Micah sort of described.

Open the def first. Now the tabs in FF where is says "sprites" or "command" each one of those things has its own "file open" button.

So in the case of a screenpack, open system.def, and under "sprites" open the system.sff file and there you go.

Also review the Mugen docs.

I can't open mugen1's system.SFF. FF says "Stream read error". What should I do?
