Longtime project... 10 years of MUGEN, 10 years of crappy Saint Seiya characters. I always wanted to make/edit some Saint Seiya protagonists (one of my longtime favourite anime), took patience and courage to visit lots of forums and albanian warehouses to find the best sprited character. My first choice went on Hyoga but his sound file were soooo horrible, so I took Seiya by Tecla2000 (or Claudio Ricci or Mim), this one seemed promising with nice sprites and japanese voice...

I added Seiya's voice and sounds from Seiya JUS character by Bruno_SS
Some stuffs ripped from Saint Seiya Senki youtube videos.
Level 3 Hyper cinematic ripped from Saint Seiya Abel Movie.

MVC styled gameplay based on my ToSix project with combo frenzy, superjump, etc..
5 Specials (+2 Air) and 5 Hypers (+2 Air).

that guy has not created anyting himself! he just takes someone else's character and copy pastes some awful code along with a shitload of pixelized collor lossy BGs. remove his name and credit the original author (can't remember who it was)

USELESS FACT: both seiya and casshern are voiced by furuya toru (well, he only voiced casshern in casshern sins)

You're right, and also I hate them. (and this is not sarcasm, it's real, I hate when they put bad ripped sounds and, mostly, in italian!)

Mim was the original author... and he's italian ! And it's 10 years of shitty saint seiya "hispanic" characters. Look at cdz juego and you'll see  :)

Great Dura, This is some masterpiece.

And "albanian warehouses"  :mmhmm: ! I remember, long time ago, having a good Seiya, with good french voices, found on a… italian warehouse (Mugenciclopedia if I remember correctly, dead since years). This was my first Saint Seiya char, and then I discovered all those sad others…

This time is over : we now have Dura ! Again : good work here.

Wow! I'd been looking for a good Seiya char in the last weeks and now this appears out of the Blue. Thanks Duracelleur, this really made my day.

As for some feedback:
  • The aerial ryuseiken hyper goes really fast, maybe you could slow down a bit the move, just a bit?
  • If Seiya is hit while performing an hyper, th hyper background stays in play until the round ends or another hyper is performed
  • When Seiya shouts his attack(aerial hyper) the meteor sound always cuts the name in the middle(p.e: "pegasus ryusen...*meteor sounds*")
  • After doing the taunt, Seiya gets stuck in his taunt pose unless you move him
  • IMO it would be better if you could add a "nomusic"flag  during the intro(mainly because of the anime sound when the cloth comes out of the box) and during Athena's winpose, so you can appreciate the speech's background music.
  • No energy/cosmo charge?

I'm no coder so that's all I noticed so far. Honestly this might be the best Seiya for mugen yet. Any plans for an update, with "rolling crash" and maybe an AI?

Damn Chazzanova, I was just going to publish that video.

Anyway, there are sprites for that move, although they might need some editing since pegasus usually wears his helmet.

Also, to differentiate between the ryusenken hypers, you could make Seiya draw his constellation with the hands, like shown in the video at 2:14. 
A couple more things:
  • When I fought against Seiya, he used a couple times a move where he "powered up" and begun to glow. The move is not listed in the readme, what does it do?
  • I noticed Seiya has his phrase winpose for the first round and Athena's winpose for the second. The thing is that if you lose in the first round, then you'll get Athena's winpose in both second and third.
    I know this is a tiny detail, buy maybe you could code the first winpose to be shown after you win for the first time only, and the second after you win the second time only.

Sorry if I bothered you with the ideas, just suggesting...

Don't think your post had "a bad eater feel" ; I come from mugen saint seiya and it's good to see new creations, and coming from a french guy  ;D , but there was and there are many tensions on saint seiya mugen world... that's explain the different answers  ;)

- missing required actions;

- he changes fighting pose whenever I press a directional button (I press right, he stand in a pose; I do it again and he stays in another pose...);
I know this is a "feature" from the original version (or maybe they were just lazy to fix it), but it doesn't make sense to me;
it would make more sense if one was normal stance and the other full power stance;

- D,DB,B + two kick misses the last hits if too close to the enemy;

- a lot of the sprites are uncropped;

- the music/voices in the intro don't get stopped when skipping it.

This for now.
That's why I hate most of the italian creators, they usually make bad chars; I know that there are good ones though, but they're very few people.
Yes, I downloaded also the original version, and let me say your edit makes the creation better.

Usually yeah. It's bad to talk generally nowadays. I had to change my text, I didn't want to shock or vex people.
In about 10+ years of mugen, I didn't find any good Saint Seiya character. This is my sadly personal experience.
