I've promised more stuff to come along later this April, and now here it is! The much anticipated (well, judging from the amount of posts his WIP thread have received) take on Cogswell's secret weapon (modeled after it's appearance from the licensed NES game, spritework supplied by Balthazar and a number of other people that have contributed to the WIP thread) is now ready to make his opponents tear their hair out after he'd harass them with an arsenal of around 42 attacks. Obviously, Sentro is intended as a boss character.


But here's someone the me from few months ago would not have expected to work on, but I'd guess sometimes starting certain things really can be that fun. Going a bit against my desire to stick with custom sprited content, Viper from Survival Arts has been semi-accurately converted (I was aiming for something that would feel mostly like a bug-fixed version of the source) with few custom stuff thrown in for a good measure. By the by, he's also the first SA conversion to have mostly cleanly ripped samples from the source, to the surprise of anyone who thought that it was not possible to do that with the game's lack of sound test.

Just to be clear, even if Sentro is a boss character and he's most fun to fight against, he CAN be player-controlled!

Heck, if just hadn't missed the WIP topic I'd had contributed to it with some stuff. Nice one!

And Survival Arts characters are always amusing to see. Maybe someday we'll have some Fists of Fire and Tatoo Assassins as well.

Isn't it from Metal Gear Solid? That's where the font comes from (that grades your scores after defeating Sentro.

Those releases are excellent.

Here is my feedback about the two characters.

1. Sentro
This boss type character is fun and enjoyable. First we got FireQuacker and now a character from The Jetsons series. It is really cool to see a character from our childhoud becomming a important slot in our mugen rosters. Kids from today will see what we got and watched back in the days. He plays very solid and is a good challenge but he could be a little stronger. The button change is easy to use and you can release 3 drones wich is good to avoid spamming. His intro's and winposes are very funny to watch. In my opinion he just releases and attacks as much as he can. He could be more of a character with the player detection ability and able to get hit with open spots. The best thing is it's system wich makes him unique. Overall, I am really happy with a character like this. Spritework and coding created the excellent boss type character.

Questions
- Is Sentro finalized or are you guys planning for a more challenging AI?
- He laughs in one of his winposes. Is that a reference to Scooby Doo?


2. Viper
This is the first time I actually try out a character from Survival Arts. I enjoy characters wich are able to pick up items wich beat em up games has. His moves are very enjoyable and easy to use. It has a friendly system. I noticed that some of his strong attacks are a little slow. I believe his speed is source accurate Also, when the sword has been picked up, his air sword slash doesn't always hit when close to the opponent. Also, sprites based on real are only good with solid gameplay and you did very great.

Questions
- are there any more weapons and/or items he'll get?
- Any references, moves or updated you plan to include?

I think the only H-Character I ever got was that Black Raiya edit and she had a super that forced the foe to suck her cock while classical music played.

I must say, Sentro is surprisingly well balanced. I mean, for a character that does nothing but spam helpers, it's not as cruel and cheap as one would think.

Best character I've downloaded in a while, that's for sure ;)
