I have been a fool. Ten months and behold, I've come full circle back to where I left Guild adminship behind.

This

I would probably have to start my own Forum (which I don't at all feel like doing, worry not).

,if anything, might have been the wiser thing to do in retrospect.

What I'm doing here isn't working, and will not. Not really. Ever since Thursday, I have also . . . maybe lost or gained something, or noticed a change in me. It somehow began while reading this post.

So I'm resigning. I can be of much more use doing something else. You know about the millenia-old concept of not teaching/preaching unless asked to? What's more, if that was my very best and I held nothing back, good riddance.

I can at least hold one thing and not delete the forum.

What about that particular post made you change your views, or lose something?

That type of post is quite common. Unless that in of itself was part of the issue.
I have to admit when Loona 1st suggested you as admin I was leary. But you did a very good job in my opinion.

Having a good balance of experience in development and a level head is a rarity.

Do you happen to have anyone in mind to fill your spot? There are not many people that won't be dictated by groups.

People I think would do a good job are Winane who constantly refuses the position >:(
POTS whom I also doubt would want THAT much responsibility in the forum... and um Other people that don't hang around any irc mugen rooms =P

Sepp, would you be kind enough to provide a CliffsNotes version of your reasons for quitting?

I can be of much more use doing something else.
Anything in particular in mind?

You know about the millenia-old concept of not teaching/preaching unless asked to?
Sepp, please teach/preach.  ;P

FYI:  I was gone for six months of your tenure, and quit bothering to read many of the huge debate threads around here even well before my hiatus, so my opinion isn't fully informed.  But, from what little I have seen, in my personal opinion, you've been pretty much the best forum admin (not considering the technical side) I've yet seen.  So, thanks for helping to keep this place going and somewhat healthy.  Much appreciated.

Hm.  Perhaps your decision is evidence to the contrary, but prior to reading this thread, it had seemed to me that your approach to forum administrating is likely the only psychologically sustainable one, at least for the kinds of people I'd want in charge of a forum.  Disagree?
Still quite busy.

(Yes, I intend to deal with that stuff eventually, but kinda can't just yet, sorry. :/ )

As much as I would like to take the reins even for a while, I'm in the same fix as Sepp and Xgarg is. College will be sure to take a large chunk of my time, apart from other things irl.

However, I can be reliable in terms of enforcement.

Ehhhhh.... Humm...
Well, no comment.
And yes that's a comment on it's own.

I disagree with most of the post that caused this decision.

Stating my views on the subject got me in trouble 1.5 years ago ...
... but I think the whole situation has cause more trouble in itself.

i ask the same question

what kfm mentioned is pretty much a given by now and can't be changed, but it's not like it's your fault/responsibility

I guess he doesn't really NEED another admin to help him.

Val can implement things the staff and special members mention or decide on, and everything is pretty much under control as far as Guild's stance on certain things. Usually stuff like that is brought up for the Mugen Creator's to decide anyway like with blacklisting certain sites etc.

The forum is pretty self sufficient at the moment.

You need one, I can try to fill in the shoes. Of course, irl things can get in the way, but I care for this place too.
