Winane, let's face it: you need mIRC to have a high level post here. There's just too much that goes on in there sometimes to explain propperly with a log :P

actually, not idling in #mugen would provide a much better mental environment for unbiased opinions about stuff.

I prefer Sepp's redo the forum idea and have Winane assist.

If not possible Winane + BJ + Valodim.

BTW if the redo idea goes underway I will offer any and all assistance since I waste too much time on here anyway.

EDIT: Even if it means making everyone re sign up to the forum.
If we need backup database space to help the redo I offer database space at NWM and any NWM resources needed.

And if Val is hesitant I offer a bribe in another donation ^^

Something about BJ as admin gives me the feeling, that he will start doing some mass-moving of topics and editing of profiles without notification.
Which will lead to his 'act first, explain oneself later' decision making.
I vote for Caddie, if no poll is posted.

He pretty much explains every action he does, and acts accordingly.

I too am in favor of dropping lists, and prefer that forum matters be handled in the forum (even in in my admin days I'd drop by #mugen once or twice to check on some info - usually because of the damn lists and what they implied).

Q - But I don't like you...
A - And chances are that I don't like you either, but that's ok. We're a team of different people with their own point of views, and thanks to this the forum could be a perfect democracy. If everybody agreed on the same point of view, this would be a tiranny.

Democracy: everyone gets a vote, and every vote counts in the same way.

Tyranny: only one person gets a say in how things will be done, even if everybody else disagrees with him (otherwise he wouldn't be thought of as a tyrant).

Unanimity: when everyone agrees on the same thing - quite different from tyranny, despite getting confused with it above; never happens in the Mugen world, although it may have its moments in the limited environment of #mugen.

Quote
Q - What is this strategy you're talking about?
A - Magicians never reveal their tricks.

Most magicians are entertainers, and while Mugen may be a hobby, administrating a forum about it like this one is more of a responsability. We're discussing a position involving responsability over several matters - this is no time for keping plans a secret.

Quote
Q - But I've seen you actually banning people here in MFG...
A - Indeed, 3 guys (Hoshi, Fuchikoma and another one who I cannot remember now) were temporarily banned (as there was no mute feature then) and who got unbanned shortly after.

... if you consider a matter of months a short amount of time, or the fact that Hoshi was a new account (the original "Lee" one was never unbanned that I know of).
Or the motivations for those particular bans and your part on what followed not long after... Enough for now on this matter...

Quote
Q - I still don't want you here...
A - Sigh... BBH was given a second chance after being caught stealing. Many people who has been caught stealing have been given a second chance too. ZantetsuMug, Legato and other guys have also been given a second chance. Why can't I be given a second chance as well?  Isn't a big hypocrisy to allow other people have second chances, yet I'm not allowed to them?

About Pots? Kick him so he can slave on his characters and give Vinny something to do instead.
what do you mean? if i wanted to "slave" on my chars i wouldn't have accepted to become a mod in the first place
and there's a bunch of unmoderated boards atm (although the GMs have been managing to handle them)

best solution so far IMO

Let's just do what that Open Sores guy said for the time being and leave everything to Val. Otherwise we will continue this topic (like we always do) until it loses most all of it's original purpose, ticks everyone off, and has Loona vs XG # 1billion.

The only time Val needs another admin is when topics like these appear anywho, ironic :P He'll do something whenever he is ready.

EDIT: @Sepp: If you ever want to try the new forum idea for whatever reason later on and need database space to do so you can start one on NWM and I won't interfere or say things like, "I think you should do this..that...whatever"

What's so shocking here?...

Most of those "trips into the underworld" usually involved checking things like current MRev memberships and whatnot.

There may have been mutings and whatnot before (I recall at least one period of time where he and BJ would have their conflicts), but the ban XG handed was for posting a pic of WinMugen that had appeared before in Mugen Sex.

I want to know how the fact that the picture appeared in Mugen Sex is relevant. I wasn't around by the time this happened, if it helps any.

Why would he be punished by showing something lots of people had already seen and could easily assume was a hoax? Handing over a ban over that was too much IMO.

As for the lists, I had no illusions about my ability to cause such major paradigm shifts in the community all by myself, such as making people stop caring about stuff being requested or not - I worked with what the forum's policies were at the time. Sepp seems to have done the same, judging from his recent post in Announcements:

The list has been heavily reduced! Betas! And stuff. Oh and that MRev bunch I just never removed entirely because I was waiting for something . . . well irrelevant, but in case you wanna work on lists, there's something you might be able to do.

Sunboy aka Rumiko aka Mystique aka Shinta aka Jedah aka o_O aka Rugal aka Vayne aka Hayte aka Edge aka Vice is really amusing to read at first but kinda borders on being a Crime Against Humanity.

Oh and don't you dare to make BlackJack admin. See these rules in the list topic? I must have killed number 4 at least twice, back when it still was number 4. It's currently number 5. He just added it back in, the bastard! Dooooon't request KFM's sound file!!

Edit:

And for the eletests everywhere, a public staff board would be hilarious, I forgot to mention.

Edit2: No, I did not know about the Nazi General.
