Lets resurrect this thread!

A few rough animations you may or may not have missed. Hoping to pump out a few more in the next couple days. I'm most excited to figure out some kicks for him!

Awesome news. I have a strong interest on this char :)

Thanks for the support and kind words guys!

I'm trying to stay motivated to work on him but life always pops up.

I have been working on his Standing Light Punch today. 14 frames and am really happy with it so far, hoping to finish it up today too.

Damn, 14 frames! I don't think any SF3 char had that many frames for that attack. Can't wait to see it, you never disappoint!

If you don't mind me asking, how's the coding of Strider going?

14 frames seems excessive for a light punch.

Agreed but its looking good so I think I'm gonna keep it. A good bit of the frames will be to fast to enjoy but I think it will be worth it.

Well, that's more a question for Rajaa. I would be comfortable saying its on hold at the moment. Which is fine because there are a few animations I need to figure out still.

just some fast edits you should work on
- I'd turn the left leg/knee (spriters view) more inward - therefore the foot turns outwards (with the heel to the left)
- I'd turn the right leg/knee more outwards to show more anticipation
- You should always align the feet first thinking about how and where the weight/balance is kept on during the move, from there on I always place the hip and legs and then the head to make sure it is a continous, life like animation before further editing it.
- Seeing how many frames you use for the attack you need two more frames:
--> one I quickly made with copy/paste moving - a stop movement frame
--> another inbetween frame from the punch to the stance (which I quickly generate with PS inbetween to show where it is missing)

I hope that helps and you are not offended by my critic

Thanks for this HQ, I will have to take a closer look when I get a chance but at first glance I can see what you are pointing out. Much appreciated.

Alright guys I could use some opinions on this gram animation I have been putting together. In this version he has a spin at the end of the attack to get him and his sword back to his stand animation. The classic and MvC version he doesn't have a spin and his sword is never really animated going back into position. The other option would be to animate the sword swinging back in front of him and then coming to a rest behind him.

his spin is probably a bit to fast here.

Thanks man!

I think I might change how he spins at the end of the attack. It just seems to sloppy of a movement for him to do. (doesn't match his fighting style)
