Who, SS ? Well, his current point is that he copyrighted the concept of the character and not the sprites.
I understand that people here are making a fuss about the sprites and coding.

...but it's all going to amount to nothing in the end. Some important points here:

1. SS doesn't care about sprites and coding permissions.
2. SS already gave Eli & Fr33dom permission to use the concept
3. Eli isn't giving anybody permission for anything any time soon
4. Eli is open source
5. Guild doesn't care about permission

So...why are we arguing?

Because the original guy here said he got permission and it turned out this permission didn't concern sprites and whatnot, and Titiln said bring Silent Storm here.

First things first : the correct word is "copyrighted".
Second : people are talking about the sprites, not the larger idea you had of the character. And the sprites come from Kakuge Yarou AFAIK, so you don't have any copyright over them. Just the name "Silent Storm".

Funny thing sprites huh he didn't make them either just ripped them. Then freedom came and made them hi res big whup. Like I said its not changing get over it enjoy it. People have been sharing ideas for thousands of years. You think they should stop just because one person in general ripped some sprites from a game....He was given credit for it and then the idea was expanded upon. Again all of this is about to be a mute point in the coming months. The new version is based off me and the original idea. I just didnt have the will to do back then. Things are alot different now and so will be this SS. No one will even remember the old one anymore. Along with the other characters I'm doing all at the sametime.

Nope I'm not im saying permission doesnt matter because he doesnt own it. Only thing you HAVED to do is tribute the person thats IT!

Be a good boy and don't jump on that when you missed years of political discussions. This is the agreement that has been reached between a fairly influent part of the community after years of arguing, whether you like it or not, this isn't your call. And it wasn't even the point anyway.

Just to clarify, the only tie between permission and Fr33dom getting it relates to how the other communities handle him, and he was apparently attempting to keep it respectful. When that wasn't the case it got pulled.

Iced: He gave permission for the whole thing to be used, under a "everything's free" approach. Read his posts closer (I know, it's hard to but gotta do what you gotta do) and you'll see he stated that. That would be the primary issue.

And to top it off really this thread should've ended at Jared's post. Everything said and proven already was, so the case was closed. Fr33dom made a goof, Guild has funny rules, and Storm's still a shit. End thread.

Deal with it on the boards its concerned with then.
The guild doesnt need to be the place where these things are fought over.

Permissions being a non issue at the guild, AND ( correct me if im wrong, going from what something said up there) Eli even being opensource on top of it, makes it something that needed not be discussed at the guild like so.
If other boards have issues with permissions, those are the places where permissions should be throughouly discussed.

And KFM is still a racist who should be banned for his insensitive comment. Like I said shows his maturity in spades. If this was a public forum elsewhere he already be toast. Notice in all the arguing I haven't once cursed at anyone. It's really not that serious to disrespect people over things so little. If you don't aggree hey fine your entitled to that.
