Sometimes ghetto is a good thing though as in some situations it can mean retro or oldschool. Racial slurs are stupid and the sooner people stop getting out of joint when one is mentioned the sooner they'll go away. You don't respond to an insult, said insult loses it's effect.

Yep. The bottom line with "ghetto" is, at it's inception, it was meant to describe downtrotten neighboorhoods but it's practically universal to praise, poke fun or insult people in saying it. Calling "ghetto" a racist remark is purely fucking stupid and only further rapes the true definition of "racist/racism."

Just like the N word ghetto was made a adjective when it shouldn't of been. For you to even say it could mean something good further displays you don't know what the words history is. I could give you 1000 links saying its not accepted and shouldnt be used ever as a joke. Problem is that black people themselves helped make it a adjective or temporary one. And it will take years just like with the N-word to get people out fo saying it. So to make a long story short it doesn't matter how you perceive it. I'm telling you and alot fo other black people will tell you not to use that word aimed at anyone. Like I said its a very good way to get your ass kicked if thats your goal.

Sorry Cyanide I grew up in a said ghetto no one ever used that to describe old school. They would of said ;back in the day, old school, throwback, run that back. Saying yo son remember those nike's back in the day those were ghetto. UMMM NO.....don't know what comedian you heard that from but its not real life. Again just because black people run around saying N word please and your so ghetto. Doesn't mean we are supposed to be doing it and even thats not accepted. Which why if you say any of the words in any work place you problably be shown the door. You think that be a major hint that its a no no. And what you guys fail to see in the reason why it was bad.

KFM basically aimed it towards me i'm black. So that automatically assumes that i'm ghetto?? So he now has the right to say that because i'm black? That my friends is a slur and a low class stereotype. He didn't say something on me was ghetto he called (ME) ghetto. Thats outright disrespectful and the very reason people like Imus get fired from their jobs. So its like me calling someone of japanese decent a rice baby or calling someone of white decent a cracker. What would give me the right to do that? I don't have any right to say it and its poor class and manners. It's about respect for other races and people that was not done here.

And Shaun as for you its a slur (NOW) and from its very core it was bad to begin with. But now its even worse doesn't matter what you think is fucking stupid. The reality of the situation now is the word is (NOT) accepted. Google it don't listen to me thiers about a million sites saying its not accepted
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=nOt&q=Is+saying+ghetto+disrespectful&btnG=Search
There you go feel free to get educated on the history of the word before you running around saying whats fucking stupid

Pretty sleepy, I'll say this and be done with it. Rebuttal from a black man:
======================================================
Just like the N word ghetto was made a adjective when it shouldn't of been. For you to even say it could mean something good further displays you don't know what the words history is.

I partly agree with your first sentence. The adjective form was primarly used to describe black neighboorhoods, good and bad ones. There was nothing positive about it's definition. But realize the times we're in - words mean different things for different subject matters. Meanings take on different things (some for good, some for bad). Yes, wordplay is tricky depending the crowd so it's best to chose words correctly...and if you feel that iffy, it's best to shut the fuck up altogether. In the sense of KFM calling you a ghetto redneck, I don't see how it was a racial remark at all...if I had to guess he said what he said because you were acting like an extremely  ???, no-name chowderhead who has their facts in a jumble (or, how it seems now, has let their personal experiences really get the best of them?). Or not. I really don't care.

Second sentence - like I said in my previous post its defintion at birth was to describe a negative setting but it has also evolved into a slang describing other shit. N-word is relative but its core purpose delivers negative descriptions among blacks. If you want to get all hot and bothered about the wordplay of ghetto and nigga/er then chose the latter. It's not like KFM called you a ghetto nigger.

Also, one last thing (and this should be expressed to everybody): don't always depend on the internet to back up your statements. People spout and publish historic findings offline just to negate or twist real truth (whatever that may be), as well as going on arguing half-learned facts that only lead into deeper depths of shitsforbrainsville. What makes you think what you find online will be gospel?

Actually in definition he called me a ghetto white person officially. But your missing the point just like Imus did. NO ONE has any business saying those terms directed towards anyone. But hey people will learn the hard way either way its not accepted. Which is why i'm not shocked some people don't get it. Because of the simple fact they don't understand the history of the word. Nor do they problably even know they aren't supposed to even be uttering it anymore.
But this is nothing new to me people argued on myspace exactly the same way for imus. They had to learn the hard way then its not cool. This is not different if something was said on the radio. He have al sharpton kicking his door down and every radio news channel calling him a bigot. Like I said doesn't matter what you believe things to be. Again the fact of the matter is its not cool nor tolerated for it to be said. You can't even call anyone a redneck anymore on tv for that matter. Without the fcc hanging you upside down by the balls. YOU'D think that be a hint.
No the net is not gospel but I supposed a thousand people all plotted to make a 1000 links of lies saying the word is not accepted right? Thiers clips of news shows or debates between politicians and rappers on this very thing on you tube. Where its clearly pointed out its not accepted. But hey according to you that is all fake huh.

You might be a ghetto redneck if you go on pontificating about the permissions and copyright affirmations towards anything related to M.U.G.E.N.

Thats not even a argument because I'll do what I want regardless of what anyone says or feels. I long since stop talking about that because thiers no point. But like I said again doesn't matter if you believe in something it is what it is. And I'm on like 100 forums this is just one. And this the only forum that anyone even cares about any of this. So like I said its fairly amusing watching people get all huffy. In the the meantime i'm like scared to log onto trillian without getting tell bombed. You really think this hurts my feelings.

Also aren't you supposed to be a mod you could be a bit more mature then that. To repeat the insult just to have your say.

This is an unfinished beta. She will never be finished. Do whatever the fuck you want with
this character, I don't care.

Do not e-mail me about this character or about ANYTHING MUGEN related. This is not a comeback.
This is a "I'm-doing-this-so-you'll-leave-me-the-fuck-alone" release. Fuck the MUGEN community.

I am not doing the same thing with Silent Storm and Jill. Don't even ask.

If you want to fix it/finish it/use coding from it/change the authorname and say it's yours, I don't fucking care.

If you think this character sucks, you're not obligated to keep it. I didn't do this for you.

These characters are released on the condition that I no longer be bother by leechers. If this condition is broken, they will be removed and you're back to bitching about it on request forums.

I fixed the SFF, So it will work with DOS and WinMUGEN. Don't bother thanking me.

Jill's Readme

Quote
====================[Please Read]======================================
After much thought, I decided to release this to the public as is. After the initial leaking of Jill and subsequent releases on warehouses, I have completely lost my drive to finish this. Now that the same thing has happened to Warusaki, I decided to release this in dedication to him.

I don't get it. MUGEN isn't that damn important. Why must people continue to hurt others just to procure sprites and code. Truth be told, half of them don't even play with the characters and just collect them for their ego's sake. It's a fucking shame that the characters are valued over the people who spend time, energy, and care to program them.

Hell, I'm willing to wager that 90% of the people who download this won't even read this. "OMG NO WAI! BIG KING ELI RELEASED JILL! HE'S BACK!!!!!111"

Anyway, maybe someone will take the time to finish the ol' girl. That'd make me happy, she deserves it. Maybe you can even use the engine to make your own MvC character. It's not perfect obviously, but it's a pretty good engine, much better than Venom's IMHO.

Obviously there is no Blaque readme to reference, so whatever. Anyway, sum-up: Open-Source -> Ask me first -> Open-Source.. I guess? Either way, it doesn't seem that Eli is in the school of "Don't use my shit or else" as it is heavily implied here, so this whole topic is pretty much pointless, especially considering that Guild (and pretty much the majority of the community) is okay with the "Open Source Movement" or whatever you wish to call it.

Also in the spirit of a certain elitist, as this is Eli's deal, if anything is going to be said in Eli's defense, it should come from him and himself only. No "spokespersons."

Thats what i was remembering. I shall assume none of us HAVE that character then or else, other people are stupid by not going in to post it.

Words change SS. Gay was previously happy. Now it's homosexual. Sick was previously what you were when you felt awful, now it's a way of saying something is good.

Ghetto may have some negative connotations still but people round here do use it as a description for something that's cool. Cars and clothing mostly. Wandering round in a hoodie and ripped jeans is classed as ghetto and people like that because their style has been recognised.

Correction Cy that may have been the case 5 years ago. But its not anymore now if you look around you won't see anyone using ghetto or the N word quite like that anymore. Only people who are ignorant of the changes in the society do. Or rappers who never cared to behin with. When you call something ghetto even as a adjective was negative period not cool. Which is what started the whole tide of black politicians and the people cutting it out. When you call something ghetto it usually means its low budget or sub par. What then happen after that people started making it a joke to call things ghetto replaces normal words. Which is basically like someone cursing every other minute using fuck or shit as a adjective.

You guys are cracking me up because you really don't know the history of the word and its current condition in society now. It's basically on par with calling someone a N-word. If you didn't know now you do know. So whatever you say after the point of being told will be sheer ignorance. All of you do yourself a favor and watch the interview of when Imus was interviewed by Al Sharpton. You will shut up real fast on this topic. It is not accepted at all towards any race anymore to use any negative slang towards anybody. Anybody who does it black white or whatever gets their ass handed to them by the world. It's also never funny and shows poor sense of humor that in all your intelligence. The best you can come up with to diss someone is a racial comment. Thier is no excuse or reason to ever go there in a language, and culture that you have literally a million other ways to go about it.

Says one thing about the person who does it and thinks its funny. IGNORANCE!

Come on, what are you doing?

1) If you look around you won't see it being used
2) well or if you do, it's by people ignorant of the changes you say have taken place
3) or rappers
4) people who disagree with this are ignorant of history and circumstances and it's current conditions in society now which is apparently defined by you! you definie society and its conditions!? i mean, what the heck? so if somebody were to say that, wait a second, it could be acceptable for him, what you are saying is that this person is

1) ignorant and/or a rapper
2) of questionable humor and/or intelligence
3) not living in the real conditions of society nowadays

By following your link, then the FIRST LINK that brings up. We get 4 definitions of ghetto

Quote
Ghetto:

1. (n.) an impoverished, neglected, or otherwise disadvantaged residential area of a city, usually troubled by a disproportionately large amount of crime

2. (adj.) urban; of or relating to (inner) city life

3. (adj.) poor; of or relating to the poor life

4. (adj.) jury-rigged, improvised, or home-made (usually with extremely cheap or sub-standard components), yet still deserving of an odd sense of respect from ghetto dwellers and non-ghetto dwellers alike
You're only accepting definition 1 and 3. You do not accept definition 2 or 4.

Who gives a fuck what the word meant back then ? If it's used right now with the intended meaning it currently has and no thought whatsoever about the original meaning, then you're a retard for going back to the original meaning. Yeah, that goes for "the N-word" too. Of course you need to remember history, but that doesn't change the current meaning of the word and you can very well use it with the current meaning even when knowing the original meaning.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
