Titiln is right, there is a god. Because there's no other logical explanation of why us humans and animals are here. There must be a creator!

That was either weak supporting or VERY weak sarcasm. In any case, the existence of a higher transcendent power has nothing to do with the current topic, and I do believe that even if the odds are statistically minimal, Stephen Hawkins' assumptions based on historical references are as good as any.

He is right tho, any developed enough race to contact others is not bound to be a peaceful one searching for enlightnment.

Hawkins is being a dick to get people to watch his show, which I have done already and LOVE! (missed the aliens episode though)
Check out the one about time travel. I can't stop thinking about it.

Anyway, there's no way for him to know what aliens would be considering if/when they come to Earth. Some might want to colonize and do harm, some might just want to study.

Also, Hawkins believes in God...stick that in your soulless pipes and smoke it.

Well, Einstein believed that "God doesn't play dice" with the outcomes of the universe.
Now, modern physicists believe more in a chaotic base for the universe. But at the same time there's way too much stability for the universe to be truly chaotic, so something is going on.
Do you believe that God is inactive beyond the point of creation?
