So we begin 2016 with a major KOFE announcement. Morrigan will be joining the cast. I have spoken to Metal Warrior and he's interested in working on her. Since it'll be a lot of conversion work, now begins the planning.

Metal Warrior did a phenomenal job with his original SNK style conversion. I did adjustments to the original sprite as I felt it needed to be little more "realistic" in the SNK style proportion-wise and a bit taller (she should be around Shiki's height). So longer legs, thicker waist, thinner legs and smaller bust. It'll be important to get sprite 0,0 down as she will be the basis for all the other sprites to come.

Color-wise she has 5 colors for the skin, 4 for the arm bands, 5 for the leggings, 4 colors for the hair, 3 colors for the feathers, 4 colors for the bodysuit and wings and 2 colors for the inside of the wings.

Planned moveset:

Specials
Shadow Blade and Air Shadow Blade
Soul Fist and Air Soul Fist
Merry Turn
Vector Drain
Shell Spin (will work similar to Dimitri's Bat Spin)

DMs
Aura Soul Fist and Air Aura Soul Fist
Cardinal Blade

SDM
Silhouette Blade (will use Lilith)

HSDM
Dark Illusion (will use Lilith)

Well, morrigan looks good, the sprite are very beautiful, and the planned moveset sounds interesting, i hope see more!!

Looks nice! I take it Aura Soul Fist and Cardinal Blade will be like the ES versions from Darkstalkers?

Also, any chance of Demitri coming along too? You could use his SvC sprites.

Glad to see your interest. I'm personally excited to begin work on her. my second fav female character after Cammy.

The DMs are the ES versions of her moves a la CVS2. Unfortunately no Demitri for KOFE. Midnight Bliss would be a nightmare... Just one rep from Capcom's 2 main fighter franchises. :)

She will have a more realistic style to her in terms of her move set. No "bat jetpack". Work hasn't really begun yet aside from trying to nail down the base sprite and conceptualization. More will come soon though. ;)

Shame about that, but understandable. That'd be a lot of characters to do that for. Still, would've been interesting to see just what ya'll would've came up with for each character heh. ^^;

That's Dimitri's main gimmick though... it wouldn't be the same if we had him in there but no midnight bliss...

it would be like having a stripper at the party but she can't take her top off.

Yes it will be a run. We'll more like a constant dash. Kinda like Chonrei and Chonshu or Orochi.

Trying to avoid this from becoming a Capcom vs SNK game. 1 Street Fighter, 1 Darkstalker. 72 characters is my magic number. ;) The rest is tutorial fodder.

When you consider that he only had it in 1 out of the 3 games in his source series, not really.  Even mechanically, it's basically just a less useful version of another super he's always had since his debut. But I understand not wanting to put in too many guest characters, so I'm fine with that reasoning.

Would've also been hard to come up with a real distinct moveset too for Demitri. I look at Morrigan as a "Ken" to Akuma's "Ryu".  They are the first real "fireball, dp, hurricane" characters. The AOF team had slight variations to their moves to make them stand out.

So MW just has a few Blue Mary snaps to do and we're all set to start. Probably start more towards the end of the month. He'll let me know. Also a slight modification to the original sprite. Adjusted the wings in the hair and some shading:
