What? This is the second time you've said this. Catholics give up eating meat on Friday during Lenten season - 40 days out of the year. It's a symbol of sacrifice, and it's not a steadfast rule. Anyone doing any fasting other than that is choosing to make that commitment year round. It's not a requirement of the religion. I've never heard of the Christmas Eve thing at all (certainly never practiced it in the days before my lapse), but I'd imagine it's the same thing. Making a conviction and giving up something SURELY can't be that strange to YOU.

Great observation. I totally agree with you're saying in context.

People are on you for trying to defend a rather disrespectful comment (religion should be eradicated from existence... yeah). Or, at least that's the impression you gave. Nothing wrong with questioning the purpose of religion (it's all beliefs and shit anyway), but dismissing and/or generalizing spirituality is a great way to get people on your case.

I thought it was going to be about the woman's STUPIDITY.  I haven't seen the video, but I already know that she's overanalyzing a damned energy drink.

See. I bolded that out because I thought that perfectly fit with the context of what I was saying, with the woman and her obscure views of Monster being satanist. I wasn't knocking Christianity or Judaism. I was correlating her craziness and how it may pertain to how people can look at religion through a crazy set of glasses. Then you've should just said that part. I'm not sure how a woman being objecticely stupid has to do with the total wipeout of all religion. There was no point in emphasizing Flowrellik's statement and, again, it gave off the wrong impression.

And after that, saying that you were generalizing that religion is forced upon children (which does happen, but isn't quite commonplace enough to make it a generalization) is rather ignorant, especially if there's no objective data to prove such a claim.

I didn't know applying logic and common thinking patterns was trolling. I guess my 3-4 month absence period from this website really did change how this place worked!

For the record if you make blanket statements or agree with blanket statements like this you'd better make a very good point of it or else you end up looking incredibly insensitive and uneducated.

MFG isn't an atheist hugbox ?? I'm shocked, what about all the other countless topics about religions that ended in blood baths (and most often against religion) ?
