Has anyone stumbled upon an mp3 file that wouldn't play in WinMUGEN but other mp3 files plays fine on it? How would you go about making the troublemaking mp3 play in MUGEN?The mp3 file in question is a file from the Henry Hatsworth soundtrack. Anyone have any luck running any of those mp3s?
try converting it to mp3I don't know about mugen but that did the trick when some files didn't work on some players while they worked on others
is the song playing in stages or other? cause it may do with either the song itself or your path may be wrong. but its hard telling what the problem really is.
yes, .ogg files are more stable in mugen: try downloading the software called AUDACITY, you'll be able to convert your sound files easily
Yeah I agree with Djoulz, but with OGG, it may sound lower, oh well. However, one thing is to make sure that when you put the song on there, make sure its in the sound directory, and that you put sound/(Song name here).mp3/.ogg/.wav/.etc.....on the desired file
I've found that there are only ever two reasons why an MP3 will not play in Mugen;1 - Something has been typed incorrectly somewhere, such as a filename or a directory location pointing to the wrong place.2 - Pretty much what everyone has said earlier, convert it to MP3. But what no one has said is that yes, even if it is MP3 already, just convert it again. I've had many MP3s that are just silent in Mugen, I've then taken then into an app called 'MediaCoder', transcoded them, and then they work fine in Mugen. I think it's because MP3's kinda have their own individual codecs, in a way, so one MP3 might not be the same to another. In MediaCoder, select some generic MP3 codec like 'LameMP3', that should do it. There are loads of apps like MediaCoder, most should be just fine, they all do the same thing, convert audio formats to other audio formats. You can usually convert an MP3 to an MP3 again, because some people would want to change things like the songs bitrate, or normalize it's volume.
