I picked this up back in August, but my interest kinda dropped off due to work, but now that I have gotten the chance to play through some levels I am pleasantly surprised to see how well done the game is. The action is great, the moves although share some significance between Spideys is slowly evolving as you buy certain skills for each, and finally the voice acting/story is interesting thanks too Slott. So far though Noir Spidey is my favorite as his style is the most drastic change between the 4 universes. Only real downside so far, which plaques most Spiderman games, is the camera. Still far too jumpy and you'd think by now they could actually fix the damn thing. Outside of that this is a breath of fresh air for Spidey and the first person moments and linear levels help set this game apart from some of his more recent generation games.but out of all the last and present generation Spidey games Spiderman 2 the movie game and the original 3D Spiderman game for PC/PS1/N64 are still miles ahead in their respective ways.Anyone care to share their thoughts about it or did everyone pretty much throw in the towel after the problems that Web of Shadows suffered?
What? they still didnt fix the damn camera controllesi always had problums trying to fight with the camera
Yeah. When locking on it has that bitch fit and swings all around obscuring enemies and making it tough for when you want to dodge enemies that it doesn't automatically dodge when in the defensive stance. Wall crawling on the other hand I have to say is improved, but outside of Noir I haven't really forced myself to use it.
As you play the game you unlock levels that allows you to play them in any order outside of the last few I'm guessing(I'm only half way through). There is no free roam, but the levels are fairly expansive, but what it does is keep the action going so like say, compared to Web of Shadows, it's an improvement and keeps the game streamlined. I'm honestly tired of web slinging around New York.

Pretty much, but New York as a land scape is overused and the way this game plays you have a multitude of environments to run through and because it's linear more time on improving the details within them as well as making it so boss fights can be unique in their own ways. The first Amazing Spiderman fight against Kraven comes to mind when speaking of that.Another thing about this game that trumps some of the previous is the fact they have unlockable costumes again. FOR EACH SPIDEY. That alone was the reason I thoroughly enjoyed the Spiderman game on the PS1. It was total fan service.

Finished it a few minutes ago and it was an incredibly fun ride. At first though I considered the Noir levels to be the best, but by the third act it became frustrating and even a sliver of your body touchs light they'd see you. Despite hearing about glitches during the Sandman/Final boss level I didn't encounter any in them, but one bug that was completely bullshit happened in the second act 2099 level which caused the FPS to bog down to a slide show. Anyways fantastic game and FUCK YEAH SPIDER-HAM CAMEO! All thats left is finishing the harder difficulty, challenges, and buying the last set off costumes.
It could have used a lot more polish, particularly to flesh out the 2099 levels a little further, but all in all it's a pretty good game. And when you compare it to the utter disasters that were the last handful of Spider-Man games, pretty good is pretty damn good.
Yeah out of them all 2099, which at first I thought had the most potential, was just Amazing with diving parts. I would of liked them to use his gliding ability or at least try an incorporate it in his attacks versus just making him dash a little further at enemies then the other Spidermen. Whats sad to me is the fact they fucked up web slinging. In Web of Shadows they had the momentum for it perfect, but in this it's like swinging around with a rock which made some "avade" sections frustrating. Overall it may end up being the best Spiderman game of this console generation, but still a lot to go when considering stuff like the original PS Spiderman game and the PS2 movietie in Spiderman 2.
Its quite sad that a new Spiderman game on the current gen systems is known to be not as fun as a Playstation/DC Spiderman from over 10 years ago
Well it's just my opinion, but I hold the Spiderman on the PS1 so highly as it had a fairly cool story with awesome voice acting and tons of fan service. Gameplay and graphicwise I doubt it's aged that well.
