If I was still into the mugen community like I am my comic and could change anything....
Update stickies. And I mean look through them ALL. Individually. Ask for input. What do ppl like about said sticky? What could be improved? Update them, add to them, remove dead weight. Separate them into bite sized nuggets. And I don't mean by splitting posts. I mean by having the issues separated by post. With links in the 1st thread that can link to said issues.
Back in my NewWaveMugen days me and DavidGee had a short lived forum. Those threads were moved to Guild. A cool thing David did was make it so that the links were on the top of EVERY page in the sticky. Hound Val till he makes this a viable feature that can be used by mods if possible. If not then he would have to do that himself I think :-(
Make sure each sticky is posted by a current staff member or admin as well.
Release threads be more in tune to the mentality of the users posting. Yes, it sucks that most uesers SUCK at making things for mugen. People need to get over it unless the author doesn't MIND to hear about it. No one should be forced into accepting tough love or internet feedback. Yes, when you put stuff on the net you are allowing the whole world to judge you. So what. That's the world. People should be able to feel safe in "their home" at least. And Guild should be their home. Or at least their release thread should be IMO
If they dislike a comment for ANY REASON they should be able to mute that particular comment (makes it so no one can read it) or they should be able to report it. For this I would rather the reports be private. Public reports make it so ppl will not report trivial things and cry. But here it should be allowed and promoted. We don't want the users to be made fun of for it either. When I comment on DD I try to get the temperature of the author before I start heavy criticism. The last thing I want to do is offend a fellow author.
The main index of Guild needs to be redirected to another page. One where a "chosen" few are allowed access to the server.
Different versions of mugen. A huge link to Elecbyte, mugen tools, the docs, links to stickies, important news. A this just in releases. Featured releases. A database (DavidGee already has a subdomain on Guild), Val can give him access to a database and then he can make the mugen database he and [E] talked about, can get more feedback on this in the forums if Val makes it possible too.
