If this is in the wrong section, please move wherever it needs to go :)

As some of you may know, i took a project by Yamakichi a while back (Which was his hand drawn cloud), and improved it 10 fold.  Now i'm wanting to REALLY get into a cloud project, but unfortunately the lack of smooth animations and...lack of animations in GENERAL on that other cloud has stumped my progress, so i'm looking to expand, and this idea i have would work perfectly if only there was 1 other spriter willing to help :)  So please read on.

I'll make this simple as i can.  Essentially what i'm looking to do is a "stickman" cloud.  Now before you say "wtf that's dumb", hear me out.

First off the requirements for this "job" would be simple.  You would work with another spriter whom i've already selected and make essentially what is a blackswatch of cloud.  It would be his outline and his hair and sword.   Now that's where the easy part ends and the hard part begins.

What i'm aiming to do here is get fluidity up to the level of dragon claw and/or beyond.  This means that cloud would be animated in high detail, up to his torso turning properly, emotion behind his sword swings, and several other components which i would discuss with you if you decide you're on board.

This would be a combo of FF:AC attacks, FF7, and a bit taken from Dissidia as well.  Think full limit break selection, new attacks, sword combos, magic, POSSIBLY summons, the works.

Why a black outline you ask?  Well think about it.  What's the one thing that plagues smooth animation desires?  Having a preset animation.  Having this black outline would allow for EXTREMELY detailed animations to be made, up to the very tweaking of his wrist to rotate his sword.  This would also allow the theory "flash + no substance = crap" to be put into effect, because i'd do my very best to make cloud fair and balanced while retaining his coolness, but without all the needed detail of sprites, so you'd forget you were playing with a stickman at all :)

There's alot more to be discussed here but it's more then i can type on here, so if you're at least interested, contact me at:

bloodriotiori@hotmail.com for MSN

disterbed619 for AIM

so essentially this would be 2 spriters and 1 coder (the other spriter is on board assuming we can get some more help, as it's more then he'd like to do alone), should you decide you want to help or are interested, we will all talk in a group and discuss :)

Dragon Claw's fluidity comes from the fact that it was done in 3D, what you need is a 3D modeler + animator, not a sprite artist for such a herculean task (capcom did such fluidity in SF3, but they're a huge company with lots of professional sprite artists who get paid for their work, and they probably used 3D models as bases too)

Heck, you could make a cloud in full detail without all that stickman nonsense with way less effort if you do it the 3D way.

that sounds fantastic but unfortunately i don't know where to get either of those things :(
